Can't feel to bad about HL, I still remember some matches from the first team fortress. But the first game would be a snakebite game back in the 80's. and like a prev post, theres no ref in the wiki's....

The earliest game that I remember playing was duck hunt. I was probably four when I played it.

I believe it was Final Fantasy VI, but it might have been Smash Bros for the 64

Um, probably Colossal Cave (aka Adventure).  Spelling was the hard part.
And Spacewar.  Ahh amber monitors.  TOUGH GAME when you're four.

My first actual console game was probably, I dunno, Air/Sea Battle?

I think Super Mario World was the first game I played, or maybe Zelda: A Link to the Past. I was born in 87 so I was probably around 4 at the time regardless. Some of the other games I remember from my childhood include...

Dune 2

Doom 2

Duke Nukem 3d

Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Bubsy in: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind

And Spacewar.

Dude. Loved that game. Ramping up your speed until you're streaking across the screen a couple times a second. Add a planet with a gravity well and KABOOM!

My first game?

Apparently, it was Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds or Age of Empires II.

Either that or it was the original Metal Gear.

I can't recall whether I played games on the Atari or the old Tandy computer first. I think it was the Atari but it's a bit fuzzy. If it was, it was either Space Invaders, Pole Position, or... hell, there were a lot of games we got with the Atari. I don't even know which I played first. I remember racing my dad in Pole Position the day we got it, so it could have been that one.

If it was the Tandy, it was probably that game where you played monkeys throwing explosive bananas at each other from across a city. Or maybe F-15: Strike Eagle. Or Dracula in London, which was a friggin' terrifying game at that age.

No kidding. When I read 'Resident Evil 2' on the first page I realized I was a dinosaur.

Not sure it was the very first (that was probably either the pool or minigolf games) but up there was Super Pipeline on the Commodore 64.

Piffff..... I can not really remember, I remember my first game system though. It was a computer, way way back when only the nerds had them, my uncle is one such nerd and when he upgraded he gave us his old computer.

It had a small amount of games on it, like Tetris and one of those packs of stupid carnival games, all black and white I know. So it must have been one of those. This was back when in what must have been 1996 or so. Then we got the Nintendo 64 and quite a few games for that over the years in what must have been 97-98, the first one I remember was Yoshi's Story, which was and still is awesome. Later some memorable games would be Mario 64, body harvest, James bond, harvest moon, and Kirby. I still play all of these to this day, although I am on my third (and what will certainly be my last) N64.

Then in... What I want to say was 10ish to maybe 8ish years ago we got a real computer, which I... Think is the computer I am typing this on, although this computer might be one step up from that one.

At one point we held a garage sale and sold most of our none electronic games to purchase the new fangled game cube, thus entering what I would call the modern world of gaming.
