I'll be there. How lucky for me, wow. This is one of my top 3 favorite games of all time, even if I am irredeemably awful. More details though! For anyone unfamiliar with N. CA it's rediculously hot in June-July, so caves kind of sound perfect. Otherwise, a lake, a mountain, or indoors, cause anywhere else is gonna be living hell heh heh

Angle, whereabouts?

I've got a court case at the end of June, but if I win I am going to go to the meetup. I live in Colorado Springs, we could probably get together and go if it all works out... Though I imagine the meetup would have to be mid July for that to work.

I'm near boulder, but convincing my parents to let me ride of with some people from the Internet might be difficult.
Holy crap do you live in Westminster or Broomfield?

I live in Lafayette. On another note, it seems I actually can go. I'll need to carpool, but my mom said that if I can raise the money, I can go. Now I just need to finish school for the year and get a job...

I can fork up 400 bucks for the carpool.

I have a bit less than a hundred bucks in savings, but I'm planning to get a job and save up.

I vote for the spelunking expedition. Though I think all our good caves are at least an hour out from redding.

EDIT: If we get a definitive date I'll be more than happy to drive some people since you're all so kind as to offer up money. It's a 2000 Saturn though, so not going to be a lot of room.

Girlinhat: The biggest issue seems to be size.  A 1x1 room would allow for maximum child desecration.

I just read this today; can I still vote?

I'm from the Philippines, and I can't afford to go there.  :'( I wish I could, though.... I'll just follow you through the forum.

How about next year, the East coasters buy Tarn and Zach a ticket and hotel room, and we have it in Boston?
Good luck squeezing money out of people.
Looks like about $300/ea for round-trip tickets from the west coast. About another $250 for a two-night hotel, for $850.  That would be 45 people at $20 each, and at that size, we'd need a conference room. That's not gonna work.

But Boston is so convenient for me. Maybe PAX East 2012? April 7-9?

Based on 'easy to get to from KBOS via T'. It probably varies widely by season, too. And the airfare probably could be  cheaper. Just not to the point that normal people we could reasonably cover it along with our own costs.

Okay, we've made a desicsion!  The official date for the WCDF 20011 Meetup is July 16!

Unofficially I will now encourage you to go camping the night before at either Whiskeytown Lake or Lake Shasta, which are both 30 minutes from Redding, and hang out with other DF community members.  I will leave it to the community to organize that.

Plans are still being organized, so I will let you guys know about the planned schedule on July 16 soon.

If you have already voted please re-vote for July if you are able to come, so we can get a solid attendance number!

If you're sure you can come, then vote for it!  Otherwise, you can always IM me the week before and I'll try to fit you in, but no guarantees.

Yeah, it's a bit early now for me to know for certain, but once I do know I could probably pack 4 others from the SF bay.
