@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

No, I'm definitely going to go for a high mineral abundance. What do you guys say to a Battlefailed-style embark with an aquifer? I've never dealt with aquifers before, so this'll be very !!FUN!!.

OK, we're doing a Battlefailed, since people seem to like FUN. Ultra-Abbeys will be by the ocean, in a haunted woodland. (There are terrifying wastelands, but they only have contact with the dwarves).

Are you ready, children?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
We have contact with everybody. Let's do this. First 5 vote for how they want their embark points and dwarves done.

If the votes aren't in by, say, tomorrow morning I'll just go ahead.

Dwarf me please!  Any dwarf would be fine.

I've only been playing DF for about a month and I've always used the default group and supplies on embark.  Since I don't have any experience on picking stuff for embark, I'd rather pass on that and leave it to people who know what they're doing.

I would be willing to play, though I dont have any experience with evil embarks.

I have managed just about every other kind of embark. Salt water, 15 mountains, cold, hot, aquifer, no water, no minerals, volcano.

I suppose we should just get started. I'll honour your embark points, but otherwise I'll embark with whatever we're going to need- that includes some flux stone, coal and iron to make a steel battle axe for an axedwarf we'll embark with. We'll need to fend off the wildlife.
