Youtube recently published First Orbit, a film about Yuri Gagarin's flight around the Earth. Containing the original audio from the flight, and footage from the ISS, it truly is quite breathtaking. The music is also awesome. Watch and be amazed!

I watched it for 40 minutes earlier today, and I think the radio messages between Yuri and the people on the ground are simply amazing. You can hear it in his voice that Yuri is having the time of his life, he sounds so absolutely thrilled about the whole thing. In every voice clip, from reporting about clouds above earth to saying how awesome the feeling of weightlessness is, he sounds like he's going to break out in laughter out of pure joy.

I should watch some more sometime to see the inevitable sunrise, I bet that's really impressive.
