Birth.

Many do not recall their moment of birth, yet here you are at yours, surrounded by the cold inky black of a midnight sky. A birth, in what you can feel the immediate pull of gravity, a sensation that you are suprised you know the term for, as it pulls you towards a sphere of blue and green before you.

A planet.

Behind this planet you can see the glow of light coming from a distant sun, scattered by the atmosphere of the plant below, an atmosphere that you somehow know spells trouble for you. An atmosphere that you can feel burning against your newly born body, a body that was born fully formed as you begin to fall through it.

Freefall, through the atmosphere of a planet that you know you should know the name of, through a planet so familiar yet still alien to you. Familiarty with that what you do not know, it is almost as uinfuriating for you to feel as the sensation of your useless body flailing impotently to stop your descent.

Desperation grips you, your arms as you realise they are called, swinging wildly to slow your fall, that futile gesture doing little to aid you as the growing heat surrounding your body becomes unbearable. You know that by now, you should have perished, yet something here is wrong. You are falling out of control, arms flailing, legs kicking, your body resisting the searing heat of re-entry into this familiar planets atmosphere.

Thoughts, feelings, raw and untamed rush through your mind as you fall towards the dark side of the planet, as you watch one of the greater landmasses coming closer with every passing second. The ever growing heat and the rush of noise passing by your ears is unbearable, prompting you to open your mouth, to scream, to let out a cry of terror as your head snaps back and forth. The sight you see chills you, the sight of the sky filled with the glow of others, of numerous other things, potentially others like yourself, plunging through the atmosphere as they make re-entry.

Your stomach turns as the horror of this situation sinks in, as you gag, though you find yourself retching dryly as you fall, nothing to expel as the ground rushes up to meet you. You can see faint details in the darkness now, the landmass having crept up on you while you fell wreathed in the flames of re-entry from the sky.

The last thing to go through your mind as the ground rushes up to meet you is the pain of your body impacting against it, the sensation of the ground giving, exploding outwards, soil and stone spraying into the air, then darkness. Darkness, as your mind slips into a state of unconsciousness from the force of an impact that should have killed you, that you know somehow, you will awaken from.

And awaken you do, after an indeterminate time, to the sound of murmering voices about you, to your blurred vision seeing little more than colours dancing about you in the light of dawn. As your vision slowly clears and your hearing clarifies, you find yourself drinking in details of the world about you.

Details, that reveal themselves slowly to you, as one of your arms reaches before you, weakly.

What appearence does your body hold?
What do you see in the sky above when you look up?
What do you see about you when you look around?
What are those sounds that you hear about you?
Did you really fall from the sky, or was it just a fevered dream?

You are a tall winged female with dull grey eyes.

The sky is light, with a blue planet in the background.

You see endless forest, with a mountain in the distance.

"She came from the heavens." Spoken in animal tongue.

You did fall.

You are a muscular, dark-skinned man with dull black eyes.

Two moons hang on a starry sky. The sun is just disappearing behind the horizon.

You see a river delta and a hilly, forest-covered landscape.

'This one is flawed. Forget about him.'

You did fall.

Challenge accepted:

You are so dull that that is all people can remember of you.

You see a dull sky, compared to you it is a truly awesome sight.

You see a dull landscape, compared to you it is the most exciting thing ever.

'How dull.'

You are so dull it does not matter.

You are a fair blonde haired woman, about 5 ft' tall with light blonde hair. Your eyes are bright green, and you are definitely human.

Four moons hang in the sky as thw twin suns begin to settle down below the horizon. The sky is filled with stars, and a few very large planets in the distance.

To the right you see a great forest with a lone mountain in the middle, and four rivers running through it. To the left is vast desert that seems to cover most of what you see. From what you cab tell there are some where around alot of oasises in the desert, but it is vast beyond any every seen, but in the distance barely in sight is a stretch opf plans, and beach with a beautiful ocean washing waves up on to the clean captivating landscape. Dotted here, and there across these plans are hills, mountains, and small groups of trees.

The cawing of birds that circle you, the sounds of creatures from the forest , and a women's voice saying " You are unique beyond all else always remember that. "

You did fall.

You are a strikingly handsome man, almost flawlessly beautiful, but your eyes look like they belong on the dead, their color is indeterminate.

You see a moon when you look up, lit brightly, but the rest of the sky is dark, and there are no stars.

About you you see a massive crater, caused by you hitting the ground, it's depth is such that you are unable to see out of it.

The sounds are the sounds of the dead, coming to claim you.

You did fall.

( Please please PLEASE be hard scifi! )

A sleek sinuous metallic shell, from which many arms emerge, split like a tree fractal, before ending in a myriad hands each specialized for a different task. Your "legs" are jet engines, purring with power as they get ready to list you up from the surface. Your mouth is a gate, and your tongue a landwalk to let the thousand children who now sleep in the liquid helium chill of your womb one day thread the surface of this planet. But despite your vast bulk, a city in your belly, you are a being of vast grace and beauty, a mother cat to prepare the world for those she guard.

In the sky above lay sadness, cold. Past. But also, the far future you suppose, in a thousand years when your children grow up to themselves make mothers. It's the milky way, a thousand times brighter here near the centre of the galaxy then in the old records that fill your brain. There is the sun that will soon rise above the horizon and spread it's brilliant scalding beautiful blue over the landscape. And in orbit around the planet, there is your sister, waiting with keen microwave ears to hear from you.

Beyond the crater you created lies a jungle, lush, filled with life and promise. Your sister chose well.

The sounds of life are all around, and further away, heard with different ears, is the buzz of the sun and the song of two nearby gas giants. Other than that, an natural silence, one that sends shivers through the standardized software in your mind used to the ever present chatter of civilization.

You fell from the sky, although you were coming online for the first time and hallucinating many of the aspects as standardized software and metaphors written for humans congealed in metaphor. Saddening really, missing the only chance in eternity to once see your sister with your own eyes.

You are a child. Your form is human, mostly, but from your shoulderblades sprout silvery, feathered wings. Your hair is non-existant now, but if and when you grow some it will be raven black and untidy. Your eyes have never been that good, but you can't recall how you know that since there was never a "never" to compare them to. You are scrawny, and your iris' are a bright, bloody red. Your pupils seem to shift between midnight black and a deep, deep blue, like the bottom of the ocean.

There is no sky above. There is a ceiling, paneled. Flourescent lights are embedded in the cieling. It's a hospital. The chart on the wall states the year as 2035.

Beyond, you sense more life, but nothing of the surrounding beyond the sterile walls of your room.

The noises you hear is the nervous stutter of the nurse, speaking with the doctor that was examining you. She said, in a different language you never heard but you can know somehow: "It's waking up..."

You didn't really fall, physically, but you arrived by what could be called a fall. You remeber anger, lots of anger, and you remeber running from something, something black and terrible. You remeber something, something evil, and it told you a lie and you- no, that wasn't you. That was a story your parents told you. You try to remember your name but you can't seem to quite recall. Your father was called Adam though...
