Observer and stuff
« on: April 10, 2011, 11:57:49 am »

Ok, I'm mass cagetrapping all attackers at the moment, but last time an ambush group sprang on a cage collector, and he ran the wrong way (out of the fort), and got killed. So, I wish to set up an observation post. I believe there was some info on the wiki about it, but I can't find it anywhere. Does Observer affect spotting ambushes and such? Do different animals work differently? Can they train observer? Or is a dwarf in a fortified box my best choice?

I think it's the way towns develop now. In the beginning, people move into a town. Then they start producing tables, which results in more and more tables. Soon tables represent a significant portion of the population, they start lobbying for new laws and regulations, putting people to greater and greater disadvantage...
Link for full quote. 'tis mighty funny.

Using a pasture and 9 glass windows, I trapped someone's non grazing pet in a square of windows somewhere in my map.

Since this fortress never had any goblins I can't tell how effective it is.

I'm doing a jail observation deck, and also what you did for my new fort. No goblins yet, so I can't tell.
