(It was being broadcast on an open frequency.)

The farm was dead. Nothing grew. Something attracted the flocks here, so anything that grew was eaten. It was obscured by a cloud of birds all year round.

Except for today.

A bizarrely huge antennae reached up into the sky, still broadcasting something. Blue and red energy reached up and down it.

Arcane energy. Something that holds the world together.

"Of course. This again."

As Aleksandr gets out of the vehicle and approaches, he begins to speak in an Ancient Gregorian Chant.

A chant meant to ward away this energy.

The chant warded away some of the arcane, so that the sheer energy would not crush your spine and brain. It still gave you a giddy feeling.

A body was tied up to a cross, not eaten but rotting, It looked up to see Alek.

"Those who take the challenge of getting here must be to hear my answers. One question, no more." It said in a gravelly voice.

"Oh don't you worry 'lil 'un."

Blane closes his eyes for a moment and feels the drums.  Let the drums take over.

His hand stops shaking.

With a quick jerking motion, way too fast to come from an old geezer like Blane, he grabs the bug, and squishes it in his hand.   An unnatural amount of guts seep through and fall on the ground.

He turns around, eyes still closed, hand still in vice-grip.

"Zachery Farm?"

That was the last one to go barren.  *THE DRUMS*

"The cloud is over..."

His eyes open, he drops the carcass.

"I know the way, but I don't think we should take this one there."

He looks down and obstructs his eyes with his hat.

"Too dangerous."

Aleksandr thinks.

"How can all this terror be stopped once and for all?"

"Ooooooooohhhh, I haaaaaaaaaavvvvvvvveeee a feeeeeelllllinnnnng..." Blankey began to sing.

"It is merely human nature to corrupt whatever they touch. Arcane being harvested to grow the crops to impossible sizes, viruses used to kill more people then ever and the Frost Wars. Humanity must accept it's fate and die, or it will continue to ruin the universe until it stops working." The Prophet put it's head down, and waited for another one to come along.

Blane gets down on one knee and smiles at Oprah again.

"Hello Miss Sunny."

"Now what's that you told us about your mother coming back?   How long ago did she leave?"

Oprah cringed.

"A...A month ago. She said she was heading for Zachery Farm to find answers."

Aleksandr stands there and considers what he said, and then begins to walk back to his jeep. He then turns the vehicle around and drives it to the town, saying another chant to ward off the flock.

The sun begins to set. The flock heads to the tower to bathe in the arcane energy. A female ghost in the way of Alek's jeep slows him down.

"I need a Charon. Can you drive me to wherever you are going? I will be in heaven or hell when the trip is over." The ghost asks.

"Don't we all need one? Very well ma'am."

Aleksandr continues to drive towards the town.

Blanes lips tighten.

"Well Miss Sunny...  We're about to head out there.  I want you to stay here where its safe while we're gone.  What does your mother look like?  You got a picture?  We'll bring her right back to you if 'n we can".

The ghost cried silent ectoplasm tears.

"My body is on that farm you passed. I just wished my daughter knew I was gone forever." The Ghost sighed.

Oprah handed a faded photo of a woman in her fourties. Plain, but motherly.

"That is her. I hope you find her." Oprah smiled weakly.

"Hrm? Your daughter?
...
By any chance, did you live in the town near here?"
---
Daniel is rather confused.
"Wha, what's going on?"
