I don't know, Earthsea sounds like a some what generic name pulled from a bland mind. Like naming something Bolderstone, or Eaglehawk.
Or Sparrowhawk?

Okay. I admit it, I laughed.

Did I miss something here.

Don't tell me Sparrowhawk is the name of something in one of her books... I mean could you prove my point with any more clarity?

Simple google-fu ("Sparrowhawk earthsea") has revealed to me that it is a reference to one of the main characters. I tried not to read very far into the wikipedia entry because at some point I might want to read the book, and I don't want to spoil it for myself.

Dear god, not only a thing but a main character? I can see it now.

Sparrowhawk pulled he's cigarpipe from the pocket of he's coatjacket and lit it with hes lightermatch. A wisp of smoke rose into the airatomosphere.
"So, Ratmouse", he asked, with a sly grin, "are you going to make this easy for all of us, or do I get to have some fun?"
Ratmouse struggled against the ropechains that held him in hes stoolchair.
"I'll never tell you the location of the treasureloot!"

Sparrowhawks are a real type of hawk.

So it's not really that stupid.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Argumentpoint sounds like it should be a real thing.

On the other hand...now I think I want to name a poem Airatmosphere. Because that's hilarious.

Bringing this back on topic:

A few paragraphs from the introduction to my honors project gave me Isaac Asimov.  That's not surprising given the content.  I wonder what it will think of an actual proof.

Dear god, not only a thing but a main character? I can see it now.
If you must know, Ged (the main character) is called Sparrowhawk because one of the first spells he learned called a sparrowhawk to his wrist. (The spell called animals. A sparrowhawk was the first one that showed up.) In Earthsea, saying a wizard's real name temporarily decreases their magic power, so they all take magic-related nicknames to use once they stop being children.
