While not as gibtastic as serrated discs i can recommend copper picks.
When mounted into a weapon trap they loose nearly all of their penetration but will (at least against unarmored targets, never tried this as a gobbo defense) tear skin just fine, resulting in ridiculous amounts of blood and horribly maimed wildlife.

I've seen it, too. I've had more than one occasion where I go back to the surface to see a bunch of clothing and a weapon at the gate near the traps. The blood no  longer gives away  that fact; my front and back entrances to my fort are so saturated in blood from hundreds of units, the walls and floors have hepatitis.

I've had some ridiculous experiences with blood, I've had my dwarves, secure up in the battlements, splattered in the blood of goblins at the very extremes of their range...

I had a FB fall a ridiculous distance onto an extended upright spike trap, he ended up killing my entire fortress with an explosion of toxic forgotten beast chunks. Too bad they're trapavoid, I would have liked to coat my entrance in deadly neurotoxin with the help of serrated discs.

...Hm, could you have a system where the various limbs thrown around by disc traps get washed into a channel and then atomsmashed? Would save hauling jobs, but I guess you'd also lose most of the items.

If your fort freezes in the winter, you can have your traps in a channel with a drain on one side, and wash your troubles away. (or magma I guess, but then why are you even bothering with traps?)

I remember they didn't use to avoid traps. FB that is. There was a bronze colossus once who ran through my neverending hall of stone fall traps (I was cheap back then), triggering shit left and right. And he comes out without a dent on the other side, but he's missing a small toe. I thought that was pretty hilarious.

Pretty sure stealthed Goblin units only set off Cage Traps: not Weapon, Stonefall, etc. traps. Was someone saying their Weapon Traps revealed stealthed thieves and snatchers by exploding them?

Kobolds never set off any trap unless they are standing on it and become unconscious. That's if they even survive world gen (currently they don't)

If you take the SKULKING tag off Kobolds they will siege you instead of sending thieves, and their trap immunity becomes truly terrifying in that context when 75+ Kobolds just waltz into your fortress.

...how early do they siege?

Haha. This was the 2nd year for this fortress.

Dwarf Mechanic: I solve practical problems.
Going to try foor a full transcipt kinda thing.

*MEET THE MECHANICS*
(Cut to a dwarven mechanics sitting on a barrel in front of a wall, taking a long pull from a barrel of beer before putting it down.)
Hey look, pink-skin, I'm an mechanics.  And that means I solve problems.
(A dart landed right next to him)
Not problem like "Are nobles useful?", because that would fall within the purview of your conundrums of playstyle.
(Two bolts landed next to his head)
I solve practical problem.
(Took another pull from the barrel.  A battlecry from an approaching goblin silenced by a thud and crunching sound).
Fr'instance.
(Camera sees a kobold approaching from the left corridor).
How am I going to stop some annoying green little elvse hubbard from dividing me into two dwarves?
(The kobold lounges, right before a massive hammer crushes it into the ground).
The answer?
(The sound of a sword swing, followed by the sound of something squishy landing).
Use a trap.
(Sound of trap resetting with a click).
And if that don't work...
(At a distance an increasing volume of the battlecry of goblins can be heard, followed by another click)
Use more traps.
(The sound of battlecry turns to screams of terror, then silence.  A goblin's head rolls into view)
Like this floor mounted artifact weapons trap, designed by me...
(Kicks the goblin's head into it, and it gets impaled on a spike).
Build by me...
(Camera changes to a view of a troll charging at the mechanic, who promptly get evicerated by several serated steel disk)
And you best hope... not right under you.
(Camera zooms along the corridor towards the entrance as it captures scene of goblins, trolls, kobolds and elves getting pulverized, incinerated, drowned, impaled, blended, crushed, thrown, dropped and bridge-atomized by numerous traps)

Someone needs to do this for the rest of the team.... I call dibs on scout!

Im working on "Still Alive", won't take long.

...Hm, could you have a system where the various limbs thrown around by disc traps get washed into a channel and then atomsmashed? Would save hauling jobs, but I guess you'd also lose most of the items.

Perhaps if you had pits on all sides of the trap, with a wall on the other side of them.  (A roof may be necessary, but it would need to be more than 1 z level up, with walls up to it if it is) And then an infinite water source flowing into the pit.  Then build an atomsmasher based water drainage system at the opposite end of the source.

In theory, many of the limbs will fly away from the trap, strike the walls surrounding and fall into the water filled pit.  Then you simply turn on the atomic drain.  That will cause the water to flow towards the drain as the water gets atomsmashed, as the water flows, it will push the limbs into the atomsmasher.

It will save all goblin items.  But the system won't collect 100% of the limbs.  Sometimes the limbs get hacked off without enough force to move it out of the starting tile, and those will still be on the starting tile.  Also last I heard items being pushed by water can be buggy.  On occasion something being pushed by water will stop being pushed by the flow and appear to vanish, while still technically being there.  I always fluff it as the item getting buried under mud myself.  To minimize that you'll want your atomsmasher as close to the trap as possible, but even right next to it you'll likely have that happen to a few bodyparts.

I've had stealthed gobs set off weapon traps before.  Or at least I assume is happening whenever I find some extra goblin clothes a bag, and a grey goblin corpse on a weapon trap.
Stealthed enemies definitely set off traps. I have multiple enemy races in my mod so I see it quite frequently (especially illithid ambushes).

I can confirm this. Stealthed enemies however won't give a message (i.e. "Snatcher! Save the children!" or whatever) if they get attacked with a weapon/stone trap.
