Are you a hero?
« on: April 09, 2011, 01:52:05 am »

"The true Hero is not the man who charges into battle bravely, slaughtering his enemies, the true Hero is the man who will always fight to the last breath to defend his home from the enemy."

You are Akio Hajime, and it is the feudal era of Japan, With the increase of Clan Warfare everyone is feeling threatened, and most men are being drafted. On this day your eldest son, Akio Izanagi, has brought you ill news. The Mori clan to the west is invading your governing clan's territory, you have many decisions to make in the coming days, and either way your family will stand by you.

Your first decision is simple, Do you:

Head to the nearby city and sign yourself and Izanagi up for the army, taking what money you have with you to be well equipped, given your background as a samurai you would surely be given a place in the Samurai ranks of the army.

Stay home and train your sons in the ways of the sword, preparing them for the coming days, your wife will train your daughter how to use a bow in case of emergencies, you also send Izanagi, who has had some previous training, to the nearby blacksmith to buy weapons and armor for your family.

Stay home and train your sons. Clearly this is going to turn out to be the trademark Badass Family.

You stay home and train your sons, for six months you do this, on the end of the sixth month your sons are combat ready and deadly with a blade, your wife and daughter can hit a target from 300 yards. a few families from the local village have come to your estate, you have equipped them with spears and swords, a militia of 60 men, well trained and equipped, carrying your families crest on their backs, and their own family crest on their armor.

The man you employed as a scout returns with grim news, a patrol of 120 Mori Yari Ashigaru is moving quickly through your lands, they are nearing your estate.

You have three choices.

Meet them in the field.

Stay in your estate and defend from the walls

Use hit and run tactics with your men to pick off the force one by one.

Combine Three and two.

Use hit and run to weaken them well you can, but stay safe and do not meet them on the field. When they get to your walls they will be bloodied and without supplies. Fight off the first wave of attacks, and when they are reeling from the loss, if it looks like you can take them, sally forth and scatter them to the winds.
