The village continues to reinforce the palisades as you continue to train the militia. The palisades are now at Low-Medium strength. Lizzy returns, and reports that the Pizzards:
Have a raiding party comprised of light lizard infantry, armed with spears and light mail.
Have a small amount of archers armed with hunting bows. to aid the spear-men.
Are lead by an unknown leader, probably some young'un out to prove himself.

Send a recon patrol out to the countryside to anyone who lives out in the sticks visibly to alert them to come to protection.  Take horses and cows from the local farmers for their protection along with their families.

Try to use the horses for light cavalry.

Also, we have no real melee weapons.

Make wooden spears now.  Super easy to make.  Longer spears then they have.

To save time we don't even have to sharpen them if we can use anything sharp and metal to enhance them.   Tie kitchen knives to the ends of sticks if we have to.

Well, if you aren't prepared for a fight, be a turtle instead. The stronger our wall is the more spare time we have to get the militia in order when the Pizzards arrive.

Strategy hat sez:

Put archers on high platforms, build 2 enterances for the palisaide, get spear-horsemen.

Use archers on enemy spearmen.

Use horsemen on enemy archers.  Retreat horsemen once mop-up is complete.   Hold spearmen in reserve in the walls, and get them to swarm out after all archers have died.   Continue firing arrows until your spearmen get into position to attack head-on, with remaining horsemen hitting them from the side.

Additionally, start making some siege defence.   Giant caldrons of boiling water or oil are required.

Make many small pits outside the pallisade filled with sharpened, poison-coated wooden stakes, and conceal the pits with a covering of grass, reeds, sticks, etc. Make sure our lizards know where they are.

I'm a bit confused. I can't imagine a giant lizard riding a horse. I just can't.
