I'm mining out a lot more stone than I ever did before.  I dug a 20x1 tunnel that resulted in 20 gabbro stones and no empty spaces.  Is this normal?  This will make it a little harder to do indoor stone stockpiles, though I haven't played with the early abilities to dump/get rid of stones purposely.

Just wondering if the mining-stone leftover rate is supposed to be so high (>90%).

I've noticed this also and was going to suggest that the amount of stone legendary miners generate be reduced a bit. I have around 3000 stone mined, and it covers almost ever surface of my fort.

I suppose it's this way to make sure you get lots of needed stone when you run across it, like magnetite and dolomite.

Now that ore, stone, and gems are the same type of item they all drop in increasing amount as your miners improve.  I tend to build slowly, and have been having so much fun with the wall construction option I haven't really been swimming in stone.  If you can spare the lumber I suggest catapults and an engraving-trained operator.  You can channel your rocks into blocks for a road or tower or something until you train a decent rock-clearing seige operator.

Yeah, this wasn't even a legendary miner.  Just a mid-high level one with a 100% stone recovery rate on this tunnel.
