Yea i made a tightly closed door but another dwarf let the damn dogs through. Fully armoured dwarves lived. Dogs --> Dog-Kabobs

Mine has killed at least 12 cats so far. And injured 2 civvies to the hand. Despite haveing an "airlock" of two tightly closed doors.

Christ, are you dwarves or are you elves? If you think Hell has too many demons, then youkill them till the population reaches an acceptable number.
Dwarf Fortress: So horrifying the players would rather talk about nice things, like Warhammer 40k.

All my war animals except for the war alligators are confined to a dog/bear bomb cage as my weapon of last resort.

I don't assign war dogs to the squad until after I'm done with putting them through the training room.

pasture -> assign animals during training -> release animals during war

Doesn't this work for military animals?  I know it works for pets (except they never get released :D).

Also, obviously, magma avalanches and tsunamis weren't exactly a contingency covered in the mission briefing.
I can assure you that Ardentdikes is not the first fortress to be flooded with magma. What's unusual is that we actually meant to flood it with magma.

I made a passage of 5 consecutive doors.

Then an antechamber.

Then another passage of 3 consecutive doors before reaching the danger room.

And I still lost one dog  ::)

I have all my war dogs and a wolf in a pasture at my front gate.

Dear god the Rhesus Macaque blood went everywhere.

Exactly.  Why not pasture all your animals, with the exception of a cat to run around and kill vermin for you?  Should help FPS too, since they generally don't try to path out of it for any reason.
