cats
(colours aren't right because the forum does in fact think that that is brown)

Birds will be moved indoors as soon as the appropriate space is carved out.

Day 169:
It is now autumn. The farms have produced their first crop, nestboxes are placed, and we have plenty of eggs. 11 eggs have been forbidden in a nest box to get us some more chickens. Next priority is getting the still up and working before we're out of booze.
The pastures outside have been artificially enlarged, to give more area for grass to grow for the buffalo. They still keep fighting.

The barracks is mostly built, just need storage in the hospital and targets in the range.

Tarricus is now officially a mason, as his skill at that is outshining his previous reputation as a metalworker.
Mipe is now legendary as a miner. We've tried telling her that we don't actually need that much stone, but she won't listen...
TolyK's taken up mechanics. It's close enough to siege engineering apparently.

This mountain seems to be swarming with badgers. Keep seeing large groups of them.

Maybe I should release badgers from the other end of the magma trap and  make seigers choose between death by magma and death by badger.

Just planning out magma workshops (this can only end badly for Mipe) and find out two important things:
1: We're out of alcohol
2: We have gained the following animals:
2 cavy pups
Two litters of puppies (6 total)
Two litters of bunnies (4 total)
11 chicks
a goat kid
Migrants!

Migrants list:
Novice axedwarf/high master miner/competent woodcutter/talented cheese maker. Odd.
Novice fighter/engraver
Novice strand extractor/lye maker/dyer
Novice fish dissector/useless
Accomplished beekeeper/novice metalcrafter
Talented Miller/Novice Grower/Competent Appraiser (broker!)
High master cook/novice swordsdwarf/adequate tanner/novice miller

Day 221:
Oh and 2 kittens.

Day 238:
Why won't you brew anything!?
Tulon, novice leatherworker/marksdwarf from the first migration, died of thirst today. He leaves a widow behind.

Also caravan is here.

Edosurist has died from dehydration.

Yogni has died from dehydration.

Udib, herbalist, has died from dehydration.

TolyK has died from dehydration.

The water isn't drinkable, I can't build a well, and Haika is far too slow at brewing :(
And no-one will go to the trade depot to let me trade or steal drink.

Why can't we drink chickens!? We have plenty of chickens! Chickens everywhere!!!

Day 240:
Merchants drove a hard bargain with us, traded a barrel full of hens eggs (worth 146) for a single barrel of ale (worth only 60). We now have some drink, and hopefully people will survive the stampede.
(it wouldn't let me seize? Otherwise I'd have both barrels of drink)

Feb, Miller, has died from thirst.

Haika has died from thirst.

Melbil, who's not even dehydrated, is hogging the barrel.

Falk has died from thirst.

Day 248:
Udil, bowyer is tantruming! Taricus punches the bowyer in the head with her right hand, bruising the muscle, jamming the skull through the brain and tearing apart the brain!
Udil, bowyer has been struck down.

Other than that, everyone now has drink, and the cook from the 3rd migration has been brewing "wine". It's not good but it's drinkable, and everyone's had their fill now.

Winter is upon us.

I know how to desalinate water to make it drinkable - pump it into a 100% constructed cistern (smoothed doesn't count)

you could pretend that never happened... :/ I just don't like it when almost half the folks, including most of the people in the RP part, die.
