Diary of IggyMcNatz, Overseer 14th Slade

Migrants. They arrive at our gate in a packm half starved. They will fatten up, and grow strong on manual labor.

I pulled them aside, one by one as they came through our gate, I asked their name and profession.

They are:
Ezum Debbenstinthad: Craftsdwarf
Asob Idurol: Brewer
Athel Vucarikud: Fish Cleaner
Tholtig Idasherith: Spinner
Lorbam Bridgewinter: Weaponsmith
Shorast Rabcog: Bone Doctor
Asen Kabthob: Hunter
Kogan Melbilbisek: Spinner
Urvad Giginalath: Cook
Adil Okiloslan: Blacksmith
Kulet Thosbutzasit: Spinner
Sodel Zulbanbasen: Child
Led Amibtobul: Presser
Zas Avuznekut: Tanner
Led Amuzol: Leatherworker
Logem Igathshem: Miner
Alath Astebolon: Pump Operator
Avuz Dodokgemesh: Fish Cleaner
Litast Geshudmonom: Boyer
Reg Rashgurmafol: Spinner

I pulled Logem, the new mier aside once ever man, woman, child, and beast had made it to safety. I asked him where they had come from. He spoke softly of the death of their fortress. Of deamons coming from the earth, the very devils of hell. They dug too deeply, too quickly, and unleased their doom.

I welcomed him in. I have no idea where they will all sleep. We now number 128 souls.

Diary of IggyMcNatz, Overseer 5th Felsite

The Liason from the Mountainhome and our Mayor finally finished the import agreement. It's a wonder anything gets done around here.

Diary of IggyMcNatz, Overseer 5th Felsite

Elves.... the workers on the walls spotted an ambush, what they hoped to ambush I don't know. The gates have been sealed for a month, ever since the Liason left. I canceled any construction on the walls. I can't risk injury, or death, and with the outer course of stone complete there's no need to risk the workers on the second, and third courses of stone.

We will wait them out, we have plenty of work anyway.

Diary of IggyMcNatz, Overseer 27th Felsite

Grilled cheetah is amazing. With a light plump-helmet sauce. Simply perfect.

The ambush consisted of two parties, bowman, and cheetah. The cheetah died on our traps, the bowman are wandering the fields outside our walls. It must be a shock for them to see the ice rise in front of them. A testament to our will.

They are led by their princess, why the elves would risk royalty on an ambush is beyond me. The cold, and living in trees must have addled their brains. Oh well.

Elves...

This marks the sixth... seventh? Ambush party since I regained the position of overseer. I write now, crouched behind the battlements atop the new ice block walls that encircle our fortress. I have no fear, between the ditch, and the walls, and the two strong bridges we have little to fear from the elves, or the yeti, or any invader.

OOC:

I'm at late summer right now, at around 15fps.

It's been an incredibly boring year. We have food, and drink, and a wealth of unemployed dwarfs.

Could I get in? I'm relatively new, but that equals a lot of !!FUN!!. However, my diaries might be not-so-entertaining as others.

Diary of Iggy McNatz, 7th Galena.

My term here has come to an end. In fact, I'm past due. The walls are built, the moat dug though it remains empty. I am stepping down, we are now secure from any attacks from the outside. I can rest easy.

OOC:

Sutremaine is up, it's a week past the start of Galena, sorry. I thought I had seasonal save on, guess not.

I'm not so savvy with 7-zip so could someone upload a plain .zip file version too? If I get the stuff successfully extracted I'll edit this message.

Looks like I was just being too detrimental towards my program-usage skills, I got it extracted.

I just have to say: wow, this will be one hell of a fun fortress. The layout absolutely stinks (but the walls don't), three cavern layers (?) to manage, and only a handful of dorfs to do stuff with. This is going to be great.

At least we have magnetite.

EDIT: And visible blue ore, but its quite risky to mine into for multiple reasons. Also, do you even know how many dorfs are cave adapted? Because with those bedrooms all the way down there, I don't want to know.

EDIT2: Nice flooding down there, too. There's also a spider FB swimming around down there.

Yup. There used to be a spot where the FB could get into the fort. I floored it over after getting "interrupted by FB" announcements.

I AM POINTY DEATH INCARNATE
Ye know, being an usurper overseer gone mad with power isn't too bad. It's honestly not that different from being a normal overseer.
To summarize:
They do an epic face. If that fails, they beat said object to death with their beard.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.
