I have no idea what season it is - probably winter.  I played for a while after the last update. I'll see if I can find my notes and put up an entry.

i like this style of posting.  If you added in a character commenting on the tablets beign read that'd be awesome.  Sort of an indiana jones dwarf, finding the destroyed remains of this fortress and reading the damaged tablets the current overseer wrote.  Making his own remarks about what appears to have happened.

Also, how many war dogs and troops did we lose in the battle with the forgotten beast?  And...how exactly did it get in? :O  I thought we had everything securely walled off...'o.O

To answer your question, I'm not entirely sure.  I think it was through a one-tile bridge. I thought it was closed, but it wasn't (one-tile bridges are irritating that way).  Other than that, I have no idea.


EDIT: Notes are sadly missing.  And I sadly really don't have time for DF right now, so I can't finish year.   

EDIT2: I ran dfcleanmap to see if it helped with FPS. It did a little bit. I also got a huge corps of dedicated dumpers going, so item clutter is slowing doing down.  I was getting a few more FPS on average near the end.  I think we can get the FPS up to a manageable level, although we might have to start walling-off and unrevealing parts of the fort to really make a difference.

Well, since it's a reclaim, there's a ton of trash strewn everywhere that could use some tidying up. I won't try it myself, I've got precious little time as it is without trying to learn DFHack.

Go ahead. I used dfcleanmap already. 

I think it would be cool to see if we can get FPS back up to a reasonable level.  FPS !!SCIENCE!! is a sorely neglected part of DF.
