Memes... I cannot think of a lower form of humor. Hey everyone, lets keep repeating a joke that wasn't funny the first time, I'm sure the millionth time is the charm! 

Granted, humor like that can work but it requires some irony and comedic timing, which the collective meme-machine of internet does not have. It's like a stupid inside joke that's not really an inside joke since absolutely everyone knows it.

Gimli? That beardless tree-hugger couldn't even beat Legolas in a drinking contest. He lost a drinking contest to an Elf. Any sane insane Dwarf would have trapped that pointy-eared bastard in a stone box and pumped it full of magma 'fore he could make his first short joke.

Those are some "memes" in the spirit of DF and roguelikes in general.
