The weapons might take up too much space and processing power for a colony ship, we'll need those resources dedicated to life support. these are civilians after all.

((Creating something is hard. Copying it and improving it a little bit is much easier. Making the engine more powerful, and making the ship bigger to be able to store more energy, is a lot easier than creating everything from nothing. And, it's been eight months since the first ship departed, so we did'nt do that in one week.))

The weapons were added because this ship will be the colony's only defence for what could be years. We still don't know anything about this part of the galaxy, but if you wan't our engineers can reduce the number of defensive equipment.

Most threats won't be THAT close to us. Meanwhile we should send a few more probes out to the other recommended systems.

As I would like to point out again, the several neutron starts around our systems would make it unlikely for other space faring species to find us this soon.

((Seems a bit implausable for that to happen without us noticing very early on...))

The survey data from the other systems would help us set up more colonies.

((I felt like giveing a semi-plausable excuse for us to have time to expand before encountering other species.))

Good point, mediative. I will contact our engineers as soon as possible, it should not be an issue to change that.

Decided to head to Alpha centuri, Agreed on a peaceful first contact protocol and found a few colonisable planets.

A few EASILY colonisable planets. Most of them can be colonized, but it would be harder and more expencive for most of them.

Ugg.... Ten pages for a few planets what we know would have been there anyway.

Okay. Send a ship to land on the best one then.

-arrives back-

we have some prelimanary organisms to help the terraforming process and start the carbon and nitrogen cycles on these worlds.
along side the mechanical terraforming processes this will greatly speed up the colonisation effort.

-nods to the other delegates-

we request we have a small team of scientists sent along with the first colonisation wave from Britain.

Work has begun on our own colonisation ship, but itll be in the consctruction yards for a few more months. we are not as fast as our korean counterparts on that stand
-smiles-

((off to work))
