There are little military capabilities but that is becouse it is ment to scout, record what it scouts, and hold diplomatic FC if nessicery, and to record if aliens are hostile. The recordings once it goes past Pluto are constantly sent back to the lab where it was build so we will have full knowledge of what happens, maybe not immediately but eventuilly. And yes I do realise Austrailias PM is an AI, they still agreed to no AI on board due to the laws of other nations.

The ship and it's crew are consitered expendible if aliens are hostile, we are just entering space after all we have no idea what they are capable of, plus the ship would not be able to hold those troops.

Yes! This is a Diplomatic meeting, guards are not nessicery! As to human lives not being expendible, it is better to lose a single member of every government than it is to lose a large amount of people. It is hoped this isn't nessicery, but it is what it is.
