I think Caelum is the best word for it. It doesn't only mean "sky", it also means "heaven" (See Genesis 1 in Latin), and "the heavens" could conceivably by an alternate way of saying "space".

The U.E.E (United Eastern Europeans, est. 2041 long live the union and the emporor) proposes the craft be populated by a mix of people from countries. Proportions would be determined by the relative population size of the country or Union is question.

The U.E.E Would also like to state for the record that it disagrees with naming the ship in latin. The U.E.E states that Ukrainian is a much more beautiful and sadly undersung language, thank you very much, and they would like permission to sock the Austrailian representative in the face for stating otherwise.
