Yes but humans don't try to send asteroids crashing into earth to 'eliminate all illogical life forms'.

That is why there should be human mind uploaded into the ship. That way we have the reliability of a human, without any of the weaknesses.

Canada is starting a campaign for AI rights. A single bad example should not give a whole grouping of mindkind a bad name. That's sophontist.
So we're going to put something even MORE unreliable into it... *Facepalms*

Canada demands an AI representative be present on the ship.

As Mediator I would like to pull out of the debate for a time.

Edit:Also, the ship does have an AI, it controls the coffie machine and nothing else.

((OOC:Need Sleep, will read everything when I wake up, please try to stay on topic about Destination and FCP for atleast a little while, I do actuilly have plans for when the ship encounters aliens eventuilly :P))

The UEE supports Canada's demands. AI are people too!

EDIT: This is discrimination against AIs! Though the coffee it makes is delicious...

We reject Egypts name, and demand an AI be put into control of the ship. Said ship is to have failsafe in case of AI and Human error.

Canda objects to UEE's name proposition. The AI should have a body like the others on the ship, not be wire into the ship itself.

We agree that the AI should be in control of the ship, and the failsafe should of course be to have the ship blow up right? Right?

((Yeah, I edited out the name proposition, thought it was pretty meh as well after a few seconds.))

I mean as in they would need each other to survive. WW3 WAS started by humans. And an AI having a physical body is not a bad idea, however the AI itself WOULD need to be wired into the computers directly.

The representative for Germany requests the floor.

"I would like to point out that the question of destination is still unanswered, thanks to my honourable friend, the representative for Canada. I would, therefore, like to point your attention to astronomic research undertaken prior to the war, which posited the planet 'Gliese 581 g' as a likely candidate for terrestrial conditions."

There is insufficient evidence for the existence of Gliese 581g. There are numerous planets around Alpha Centaur A and B. Besides, planet-based habitation is energy expensive.

Canada restates it support for Alpha Centauri as the first destination.

It may not be habitable as well. It's worth probing though. And remember that planet based living doesn't take half as many resources too.
