Does Crossbow quality affect anything?

I seem to recall it affected fire rate but I'm not entirely sure.

AFIAK it only matters when the crossbow is being used like a hammer in melee.

The material will affect how a crossbow performs in melee (using the hammer skill, last I checked), but I think the quality is calculated like other weapons, with masterwork crossbows having a 2x to-hit modifier, and artifacts having 3x.  The lower qualities are all the same, except for their values.

But hey, I may be totally wrong.  Tiny info on the wiki.

Better quality and material ammunition will be more effective.

I think masterwork silver bolts are best due to how heavy they are. Adamantine bolts tend not to do well because of their light weight.
