Is he being fired, or is he retiring/being retired because he is rapidly growing blind and dying?

I don't know but as batshit insane as he is, I hope he's not dying because he's a great form of entertainment if you watch him in the same way you do, say, Stephen Colbert. Maybe he can do something else with another network. Perhaps ABC? ...nah.

FOX NEWS AND MERCURY RADIO ARTS ANNOUNCE NEW AGREEMENT

NEW YORK— FOX News and Mercury Radio Arts, Glenn Beck’s production company, are proud to announce that they will work together to develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the FOX News Channel (FNC) as well as content for other platforms including FOX News' digital properties. Glenn intends to transition off of his daily program, the third highest rated in all of cable news, later this year.

Roger Ailes, Chairman and CEO of FOX News said, “Glenn Beck is a powerful communicator, a creative entrepreneur and a true success by anybody’s standards.  I look forward to continuing to work with him."

Glenn Beck said, “I truly believe that America owes a lot to Roger Ailes and FOX News. I cannot repay Roger for the lessons I’ve learned and will continue to learn from him and I look forward to starting this new phase of our partnership."

Joel Cheatwood, SVP/Development at FOX News, will be joining Mercury Radio Arts effective April 24, 2011. Part of his role as EVP will be to manage the partnership and serve as a liaison with FOX News.

Ailes said, “Joel is a good friend and one of the most talented and creative executives in the business. Over the past four years I have consistently valued his input and advice and that will not stop as we work with him in his new role."

"Glenn Beck" is consistently the third highest rated program on cable news. For the 27 months that “Glenn Beck” has aired on FOX News, the program has averaged more than 2.2 million total viewers and 563,000 viewers 25-54 years old, numbers normally associated with shows airing in primetime, not at 5pm. “Glenn Beck" has dominated all of its cable news competitors since launch.

About FOX News

FOX News Channel (FNC) is a 24-hour general news service covering breaking news as well as political, business and entertainment news.  For more than 100 consecutive months, FNC has been the most-watched cable news channel in the country.  Owned by News Corp., FNC is available in more than 90 million homes.

About Mercury Radio Arts

Mercury Radio Arts is Glenn Beck’s fully integrated multi-media production company. Mercury produces or co-produces all Glenn Beck related properties including The Glenn Beck Program, America’s third highest-rated radio show, Beck’s New York Times bestselling books, his live stage-show business, destination website GlennBeck.com, and news and information service TheBlaze.com.  Founded in 2002, Mercury has a full time staff of 50 employees and is based in New York, NY.

I certainly hope not, fitting all of Nikov's personality inside a standard tin can would take an absurdly powerful pneumatic press.

It wouldn't be too hard to get the required pressure to can all of my raw awesome. You just need to put me in an atmosphere equally concentrated with bullshit. :)

While they made some vague mentions of working with Beck on other projects (notice no specifics), they're ending his show following a drop in viewership of over a million between October in January. That's still being Canned in my book.

Yep!

I mean... You don't even HAVE to parody him. Just watch his show, it practically parodies himself.

The man admits that he's basically a troll who does it for the money. There is no need to take him seriously.

While they made some vague mentions of working with Beck on other projects (notice no specifics), they're ending his show following a drop in viewership of over a million between October in January. That's still being Canned in my book.

Of course the remaining viewership is still higher than all other shows in that time slot combined, and higher rated than any non-FOX network news show. The truth is his show ran its course, his contract ended, and having achieved his goal of getting a message out he and Ailes have decided there's no sense jumping sharks to keep pounding out the same list of bad actors. His show undoubtedly influenced the 2010 elections and now that the policies he espoused are being presented by the Republican House majority he can scale back to being a guest commentator and making documentaries. Now if you want to think he's been canned, that is fired, because his contract was over and they opted not to renew, I suppose you're free to think whatever you like.

And now we return to our regularly posted smuggery.

Well, if bull manure has a large concentration of carbon in it, it means we need a diamond press to can Nikov.

and not those cheapo diamonds people dig out of the blood soaked africa either. No, we need to get into De Beer's secret stash of super diamonds.

I'll need 10 more people...

Let's not do this, again.

And he has a point. Despite how much I enjoy knowing GB is off the air, the future is right there in the very first press release. He's going to be doing internal content development for Fox. The only place he's gone is behind the scenes. It's not "the fall of Glenn Beck" as some are painting it to be. In reality, he may end up much stronger, influential and crazy working from behind the scenes at Fox, where he doesn't have to worry about TDS pointing out how absurd he is.

This is more like if the Emperor saber'd Darth Vader because he figured he's more useful choking the fuck out of people as an evil force spirit.
