The year is 2026. Despite major natural disasters tearing the less developed countries to shreds, and tossing the better off ones into high turmoil, not much has changed. Despite small technological advances being made, the overall scheme of things hasn't changed. Until today.

It is a bitter January morning in the streets of New York. You look out of your window to see a similar street to 15 years ago. Sure, the cars may be more economic, and the buildings may be more efficient, this is still the same old NYC. You look at your room. Amongst a clutter of scrap parts, a computer, a HD3DTV and a door, you see your Science Certificate, designed by yourself. You squat down to admire it for a second.

Suddenly, by pure stroke of luck, a strange beam of light hits your window, bounces of your most prized invention, catches your certificate and hits you square in the eye. You feel inspired enough to regenerate the blandness of modern life into something amazing! You grab your clothes, your tools, some parts and your prized invention, and head outside. You notice that five others seem to be inspired on a similar scale. Work with or against them, but you will craft the world again... with the power of Science.

So yeah, this is the birth of true science, and a sort of prologue to Mad Scientist RTD. It uses a similar rule set, with inventions, fighting and possible explosions. Except, you are the ones who will create the Golden Age of Progress.... by raising factions from ground up!

Hrm, how about eight mechanical tentacles (With claws/grippers) attatched to my spine?

Also IN.

In. I think I'll be a robotics specialist.

My invention is a robot turtle-thing on treds, with mechanical arms and a back designed to carry whatever it collects. I'll call it a Robo Rover.

Time to DO BARREL ROLL!

derm, I need to know if the claws are manually or automatically controlled.

NightS, your invention [Power: 4, Size: 6, Functionality: 1, Fuel: 4] is a FREAKING HUGE scanner which, while it may find rare itmes from time to time, will break after use and takes three turns to repair. It runs on battery power, and the batteries won't need replacing too often. Reroll?

Nirur, your Robo Rover [Power: 4, Size: 5, Functionality: 2, Fuel: 3, Intelligence: 1] is quite large for a turtle-based bot, and can only carry 3 reasonably heavy things at a time. It needs a decent supply of electricity to work, but is DUMN AS SHIT and requires a roll to comprehend your commands. Reroll?

IN!

EDIT: Invention: room-temperature negative-resistance wire using mostly copper and gold.

Can we go against thermodynamics? That wire just kicked it in the nuts :P

exxxactly.
although if it's a room-temperature superconductor with internal magnetic fields...
... it might work, if we ever get room-temp superconductors...

PPE: Howz about not room-temp, but 3OC-temp or something?
P.S. Gonna use it in a gauss rifle, but this thing would be very hard to make into something (bending resistance is high, etc.)

EDIT: Hey, I know! It creates current using the Earth's magnetic field and "amplifying" it sorta!

Even better: a graphene wire/nanotube that actually does something like that (not exactly, it doesnt get current from earth magnetic field, but graphene transistors generate electricity from their surrounding heat, cooling them and giving them a whooping 110 % efficiency :D Isnt actual tech awesome?)

Invention: Pocket High Power Laser !

I hope for both industrial and weapon usage. :P

Can we ally with another players and have a common components pool or something like that?

@ExKirby.

They will act like I have been born with eight extra seven foot long prehensile arms. So manually I guess? But unconscious action (Like tapping a finger when bored or twirling a pen) applies to them too.
