Gorlak won't drink!

He just blinks a thirsty blue arrow--tried penning him in a booze stockpile, a room with a ramp to some water, a room perpetually running with water.  So far nothing.  Am I facing one more dead gorlak (armok forbid) or is there options I could try?

First - how did you get a Gorlak that needs to drink?  I assume though modding, since they're not tamable by default.

If he's like a tigerman, he needs a water source zone that is over fresh water.  Tigermen won't drink booze, won't use a well, won't drink salt water, and seem to need a water source zone in order to drink.
