I'm planning on fighting the Snarbolax tomorrow.
I have a wolver coat, cobalt helm, calibur, defender and a blaster gun, what could go possibly wrong?

Hey, I did it with pretty much only the cailbur, cobalt armor, and the protostuff...

Hey, maybe I'll join you.

Oh.

Good luck then, playing alone got me killed at the arena.

I wish to start the wolver line!

Granted, it'd be a downgrade, but the snow-wolver stuff looks cool!
And there;d be a sword bonus.

You can do the Snarbolax with starter equipment. You just need to know the patterns.

Which is why T2 is so difficult, all the enemies have funky patterns where they'll attack slowly and follow it up quickly with a quick attack. You try to get a hit off while they are going through the first slow attack only to drop your shield for the second. And they all love to hop everywhere. At least jelly enemies are still simple.

With the Snarbolax you basically just wait around a little South of the bell with your shield up until he charges up for a three bite attack, where you ring the bell and just bum-rush him. When his defense goes back up go back to the dodging spot and shield all the time. The only time this should be problematic is when the bell somehow doesn't work(Which it often doesn't), so you'll need to just sorta survive 'till he returns to the warping around pattern.

And for christs sake don't stand next to the bell you'll just get a bunch of barbs up your ass.

Red shards?
Gel drops?

Do those sell for anything, because doing a solo expedition, I got loads of the same material.

You can check yourself (just go to the AH, sort by "buy price") but currently:
Red Shard: 23 each
Gel Drop: 5 each

As long as I'm browsing the AH, here's the prices of the things I mentioned before (prices subject to change):
Swordstone: 300
Blue Shard: 90
Green Shard: 75
Iron Gear: 250

Looks like prices are starting to drop now that all the people from the Steam opener are starting to adventure down and sell the spoils. Good for crafters, not so much for people trying to earn some extra crowns.

Hm

Oh game, why give me all of the gel and all of the good things to everyone else. I mean, this stuff has no use.

I'm finding the game to be enjoyable, and haven't had any problems running out of energy. I don't see how anyone could run their energy out in half an hour, unless they were really wasteful and dieing a bunch or something.

My first day I did the tutorial thing and the starter place and got to haven, all total using 20 energy. I then spent about an hour and a half running through the leftmost dungeon thing in the arcade (down to the start of tier 2). Had to kite things a bit on that last level since they took so many hits, and wound up dieing once in the final wave of the final room on the 7th level with two of those healer npcs (throwing heals for 80s when my gun shot for 8 ) but still managed to finish it by throwing a bunch of those special things you pick up (fire, poison, etc - finally killed off one of the healers with that, then the other, then kited the rest of the room to finish).

Probably played 2 hours total, and still had 20 energy at the end. I even used 3 energy to open a little treasure room thing where I got like 300 crowns and a bunch of heat. Put in bids on a bunch of tier 2 stuff on the auction house that was ending over night, but won nothing. I guess you have to babysit the AH at the end of the auction to win anything.

Then today I managed to get a blaster for 2000 before I got started again, with full energy. Took the second dungeon thing this time, having no idea I was apparently going after the Snarbolax. The whole run was easy as pie, took me about an hour. Came out with 2400 crowns, 5 assorted tokens, and a whole bunch of materials. I came to the boss with a #4 one of those health booster things (vitawhatever), a full health bar, and 3 of those health boosts that give you health back when you use them. I even passed up like 5 more of those things, they were dropping all over the place. Found the boss ridiculously easy, only taking one hit from a spike that I didnt see coming from off the screen.

In general it seems to take me roughly an hour to do a full 60 energy run, so it's easily a game you can get into and play an hour or two a day.

It still is 50 for tier 2.

And if you go around doing it right, you can get 'unlimited' energy by buying some, and making it up in exploring.

Well that doesn't make any sense.

I just watched three Swordstones get bid up to 550 or so and are still going, yet the one I have on with a buyout of 500 hasn't sold yet.

Guess people are too busy fighting a bidding war to realize theres one with a buy out price less than they're bidding.

-edit- Hahaha, theres a BUNCH on there for like 420 now apparently. Guess thats why mine haven't sold. Wish I had people that zealous bidding on mine, bidding them 130 above the lowest buyout price.

I've been goofing around in the market for the last hour.

Sold all my minerals after a second snarl run, got a good bit from that. Bought and resold several small things that I saw cheap, making small change here and there. Looking through the swords, I saw some way cheaper than the rest. Bought two tier 2 swords for 1200 each, resold them quickly for 2500 each. Minus the 10% selling fee, a total profit of 2100 total on them. Debated on keeping one, but decided against it - I never seem to use my sword anyway.

With all this cash from playing the market, I'll probably be geared up for tier 2 runs tomorrow - after only my 3rd run through tier 1.
