Decided to give this a try.

Figures that the first thing I see after I log in is a message telling me they're rebooting in 5 minutes for an update.

How long do the reboots usually take?

How long does the energy you're given each day usually last? If it's less than an hour I'm probably not going to give this game a shot.

Less then half an hour..

but you can buy more, so if your lucky, you'll get enough to play for a bit longer.

I like not being able to play for too long every day. It sorta breaks up the problem with MMO's of being designed around grinding for hours. You really can't grind at this game. Wonderful.

I agree, but when I sit down to play a game I usually prefer to play for about 1 hour, since I don't actually do it that often anymore.

In t1 you can't really keep it up, since the cash drops aren't as good, but once you get down to t2 - assuming that prices stay in the 4-5k area - you should make enough with 80 energy (one full run) to make enough crowns to buy 100 energy, plus a little profit and any mat drops.

If dying in t1 is an issue then invest in tier 1 equipment instead of saving for tier 2. They provide a surprising amount of help for what little they offer.

Dying isn't my issue but I've only gotten as far as a few floors lower than moorecraft manor, how far down is tier 2?

Moorecraft is the transition between t1 and t2, Emberlight is the transition between t2 and t3. If you're below Moorecraft, you're in t2.

All I need is that helm. My sword sets people on fire, my armor is 2* and my shield was gifted to me. Why must enemies be so anal abot dropping items I need?

and the random distribution system is even worse.

What should I do with materials, in general? Sell them, save them, give them to other B12 people?

Unless you've got a specific recipe that you're planning to make, I would suggest selling off all extra mats, especially things that are currently selling at a high value: Blue + Green shards (100-125 each), swordstones (500+ each), iron gears (last I checked, I think 400 each). When you're just starting out, the cash from these sales can go a long way to buying equipment and/or CE.

Oh, and just a plea - please sell shards in groups of 5 or 10. Noone buys just one shard, and it's a pain to have to buy them all individually.

edit: also, I would _highly_ reccommend setting both a reasonable bid and buyout price. Most people who are buying mats are looking to get them right now, so would rather use the buyout. Setting a reasonable bid price makes sure that if the market shifts on you, you don't end up selling that swordstone for 10 crowns when the timer expires.

Red shards?
Gel drops?

Do those sell for anything, because doing a solo expedition, I got loads of the same material.
