Why don't you make it so he can kill his attackers without aid?

Please, take a moment of silence for all the venerable old threads rendered unintelligible by the Great Photobucket Dickification of 2017. So much was lost.

Give him an undirected breath-attack for the time being?

You all turned Swordthunders into a bastion of madness that seems to warp in on itself under its own hatred of sanity.  I'm so happy!

He'll breath with his...beard. Yeah, that'll work.

Please tell me you intend to pave his name in gold on the surface of your embark.

I say why not? Save, then launch a rescue attempt. He will likely be a permanent hospital resident, but if you arrange things right and he survives, you might be able to get him elected mayor. I vote for entombing him alive in a vast structure made of valuable metals with about a fifth the fort's population permanently dedicated to keeping him alive - doctors, farmers, brewers, and personal honor guard, who never leave the golden tomb.

After which he can serve as a psychic beacon on which all dwarven caravans rely.

Do you mean as in the first dwarven compass?

Temporarily change his size to that of a small solar system. That oughta do the trick.

Not only did I get it when you first made it, it's what I was going for before you even posted. :P

Dang. I can't get this to work... I can't manage to change his race to the new one I made.
Could anyone give me a hand? Or maybe I'll just post the save later?

Are you modifying an existing creature to the one desired, or creating a new entry that wasn't there during world gen? It may need to have existed during world gen to be valid.

I have no idea where anything is. I have no idea what anything does. This is not merely a madhouse designed by a madman, but a madhouse designed by many madmen, each with an intense hatred for the previous madman's unique flavour of madness.

You could just modify the dwarves as they are now and delete your changes after you've saved Cerol. It seems like the best thing to do.

For your race of mecha-dwarves, give their blood a syndrome that causes goblins to melt/catch on fire.

Christ, are you dwarves or are you elves? If you think Hell has too many demons, then youkill them till the population reaches an acceptable number.
Dwarf Fortress: So horrifying the players would rather talk about nice things, like Warhammer 40k.

For crying out loud, just use Runesmith to make the enemies attacking him have all the bad flags. Then make him have good flags. It won't bring back the dead, but it can keep a dorf alive halfway through the lava sea.

Why bother with a NEW race? Just turn him into a BC and let him obliterate the siege himself.
