« on: April 04, 2011, 07:16:58 pm »

( yes i now theres a topic about this already, but its old and i dont want to necro it)

ok so i just made a character about half and hour ago, and since then i read something about dwarfs having NO HAIR. now if my dwarf doesnt have a three foot beard then what is this?

besides that, this seems like a really complex and fun game, any players here?

I played it a while back, it's pretty neat. Huge timesink though.

I feel you man. I wanted to play this game, and I came up with a great character concept of a knowledge seeking dwarf trying to find out why dwarves have no hair, who maintains his own scraggly multicoloured beard forged from the hair of a variety of creatures. A couple of times the approval staff said I had no focus (or whatever the dwarves have as a lifetime goal) when I even had a sentence saying "His focus in life is to..".
On the third submission whoever was approving it just disregarded it entirely as being silly and I gave up on the game entirely. I don't want to play a game where anyone being not quite sane is considered silly.

The admins of Armageddon are really, really, reaaaaaaally dedicated at keeping their world as full of boring piss poor bandit type characters as they can, since its the only kind they accept. Wanna get accepted? Just make a boring cookie cutter poor characters without any special characteristics and you get in with your first try. You get to make semi interesting ones if you've been playing it for ages, and honestly I don't wanna spend over a month playing a text based game just to make a slightly cooler text character.

Unless things have changed.. crazy dwarves with wigs are not exactly uncommon on Zalanthas.

I'm still pissed at this game for not allowing me to make/sell maps, or use images of any sort without the ability to "write" (though there were no letters involved in any of them), and even then only in a stupidly limited way.

Having played a while, though, I am of the opinion that pretty much everything about this game is super dumb, and the admins tend to be double super dumb, BUT there are some pretty good and interesting players which would almost make up for it if I didn't have the boot heel of doom smacked down on my head whenever I tried to do anything interesting.

Thats the problem. The admins seem to be hellbent into keeping everything boring, dusty or at least very limited. They're more worried about keeping their world "canon" then with the actual gameplay experience. The game is already a timesink, making it dusty-brown uninteresting doesnt help any bit. Its no use bragging about having tons of skills and apparently some interesting magic or mind powers, because you can't use them, the admins will never let you do anything remotely fun.
