Groups of species, names thereof
« on: April 04, 2011, 05:08:47 pm »

Or: What do you call a group of dwarves? In the vein of pod of whales, swarm of flies, etcetera. What about elves, and goblins, for that matter?

My suggestions:

A fortress of Dwarves.
A spite of Goblins.
An annoyance of Elves.

An explosion of cats.
An OHSHIT of carp.

Think of it like Sim City, except with rival mayors that seek to destroy your citizens by arming legions of homeless people and sending them to attack you.

To fix yours-

A magma of Dwarves.
A magma of Goblins.
A magma of Elves.

...

Really, "A magma of X" works for just about anything.

No, no, that's more appropriate for groups of DEAD x. Well, in the case of dwarves anyway.

It's like that christmas song-

On the twelth day of magma, a magma covered dwarf gave to me...

12 Magma's of Elves,
11 Magma's of Goblins...

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

What's a good term for a group of dwarves?

Whatever single word there is that means "hilarious fatal accident waiting to happen"
