Anyway, maybe. But ask yourself this: If you see ten guys walk into a bar, 8 of them look like shit, the other two look really good, and one of the good looking persons walks up to you and tries to sell something on behalf of the other good looking person, wouldn't you be kinda... I don't know, bothered by all the shit-faces even if the thing is coming from the nicer looking ones? I mean, you know they're part of the same group, unless you're planning to get to know them, I'm pretty sure you'd judge them on behalf of their group.

What?

Honestly, what?

You don't judge a merchant by how pretty the smith who made the sword was. If one of the members of the group was a wanted criminal I could see it, but just because most of us are ugly?

A party isn't about being well rounded, it's about specialists. It's about Snipers, Grenadiers, schocktroops, skirmishers, suppressors, etc working together. Not about a bunch of Joats.

Which I dislike, personally, but does tend to be the case without diminishing returns and/or passive benefits.

Urgh. I'll answer Irony when I'm ready. Really tired of arguing about now.

You don't judge a merchant by how pretty the smith who made the sword was.
But ask the question: Is the smith in the same group? It doesn't sound like it in your example. We're talking about people in an actual group, where the overall feeling on a group depends on it's members. Think of this forum: If everyone in this forum was an asshole but 10 people weren't, your opinion on the forum will be dragged down by all the assholes.

If one of the members of the group was a wanted criminal I could see it, but just because most of us are ugly?
Let's say X looks ugly as sin.

First things that come to your mind is he may look like a criminal, muderer, pervert... etc. The former and mid may be reenforced by the weapons they are carrying. The latter may be enforced by... I don't know, lots of females in the group?

Then you see Y, Z, P, and T, who all look similar. This drags the overall opinion on a group down.

I think this boils down to a difference in the way we think, I don't connect people that way. Hell, a number of people on this forum are asshats, I'm one of them from time to time. I've never connected individuals to groups, I'm more of an as it comes kind of guy.

Ugly to me doesn't conjure any hideous crime or sin against man and god. Ugly is ugly, end of story.

You're the GM, you're the boss. I just wanted to know your take on it.

Irony, I realize that I just did it, but really. Tarran's game his rules, we're getting onto him for attempting realism. His world, his rules. We just live in it.

Yeah, in the end, I'll roll with whatever Tarran decides no matter how much I complain...

But the way I made my character, though-agi/str/int needing melee magic user...lol...I can only dump on Charisma or Toughness. I really have little choice in the matter.

That's true. ^^; I'll probably raise my Cha and Int up to 10 over the next ten levels so as not to drag the party down but after that it's time to concentrate on my primary stats. :3

GUUUUUUYS. You're all assuming that Taric or I are going to use our Krisma on behalf of the rest of the group.

Do you really think that's likely?

Yes. Of course, it won't be money you'll be getting on them, it'll be girls. Screw the dough, a night on is better.

I'm so, so sorry.

We have to remember Darvi is utterly, utterly selfish, not depraved. :3 I might be able to bribe Joseph and Taric, though... like "help me out and I'll protect you from the crazed mob after you."

...

That only applies to Taric. :-\ How'm I gonna bribe Joseph...?
