I'm planning on trying it out, but for now, I'm going to allow my Gmod veteran friend to guide me a round the wonderful world of insanity for a while.

Man, only if I knew how to join that server, I haven't found that many particularly good Trouble In Terrorist Town maps...

I was unaware you could play TTT without CS:S. How do you go about doing this?

By running around with the ERROR and Squares texture and code on things.

If the player's characters had thoughts...
"Uh, Bob, what are you holding?"
"I'm holding an AK, can't you tell? You're not a real terrorist! You're a traitor!"
"Dude, I don't even have CS:S. I see a friggin' floating ERROR sign."

Its still playable reguardless. Sure, your'll get yourself auto-booted if a CS or DE map comes up, but all the other maps can still be played.

One of my favorite games, I kinda suck at building so I just go to TTT servers and RP servers.

open source

No. It started as a Half-Life 2 mod. It runs on the Source engine but is not open source.

Anyway, if you haven't played SpaceBuild, I would recommend it. It's got quite a dependency chain, though.
Link? Google got me to a pgae from 2007 and the links to the stuff there is gone. :P

GMod addon creators seem to love using SVN. If you don't know how to use a SVN client, I would suggest learning how if you want to use lots of addons. The easiest way is with TortoiseSVN.

For SpaceBuild, you would need pretty much all of the blue links under the SpaceBuild 3 section. You can get by without the Stargate stuff and the various damage/combat stuff, but they're nice to have if you want ship-to-ship fights or fast transportation to your seekrit base.

The two links I provided have a lot of the same addons, but some that are on one aren't on the other and vice versa.

Hey, JF, do you have any mods, specifically for the TTT game type? I'd just like to know.

No. I have zero mods. I do not even know what you are talking about.

Also, TTT is quite playable without counter-strike. I play it, dispite the Errors and black and purple skins.

Another Big List O' Addons

Awesome, that's an automatic mod installer/updater, which doesn't require you to keep a separate folder for svn versions and export them to your G-Mod folder in order to not slow G-Mod down. The "too much effort to redownload everything" factor was the main reason I hadn't played spacebuild since building this computer, and that just took care of it.

Gmod is very very very fun.

I wish I had my own server with all my favorite maps. But that would be stupid. Since my internet isn't great for that.

I wanna ask people of Bay 12 this:

What do you think of wiremod?

For some this might be really odd question (those who love it) but some think that wiremod is bad for gmod. So jsut wanna know what you think about it here.

Personally, I like it. But can't make anything for shits, besides... Uhh... Hmm...
Well, I can't do anything remarkable. I once knew how to make very wobbly automatically targeting turrets, but not anymore.
