I don't really have any opinion one way or the other. It's just...There for me.

How do you join a Gmod server with just an IP?

Right click on the Favorites-at the servers tab. It says you can add server to favorites by IP address, but you can also just play there without adding it to favs.

Or the omnipresent "connect IP" in the console

I wanna ask people of Bay 12 this:

What do you think of wiremod?

For some this might be really odd question (those who love it) but some think that wiremod is bad for gmod. So jsut wanna know what you think about it here.

Personally, I like it. But can't make anything for shits, besides... Uhh... Hmm...
Well, I can't do anything remarkable. I once knew how to make very wobbly automatically targeting turrets, but not anymore.

I'm sad I missed the good old days. A look at some of the videos on youtube shows a lovely friendly feeling before wiremod, where people would sit in a corner together on gm_construct making random contraptions. Rp servers also relied on actual rp rather than a script by the looks of it as well. But I'd imagine that'd all get pretty boring after a while and wiremod is an advancement, I'd just like to see some more variety than your same old 'does-everything-1-prop-wiremod-bot'.

Something I've noticed about Gmod recently is that there seem to be only a total of around 300-500 players spread around various servers on average. It's a shame the playerbase seems to be so small, it prevents some awesome gamemodes from being created or being successful. Does the amount of players go up when all the Americans come on or something?

Well, one time I saw my bro create a driveable, turnable, accelerateable rocket powered airship using entirely Wiremod, so surely it must be good for something.

Umm, you can do that in 10 minutes without wiremod and most of that is building the hull..

Wiremod can make loads of fun stuff. Most notable projects are holograms, turrents and vehicles, but there are other stuff as well.

My favorites? Anti-minge chips, which protect me from players' weapons etc. Or possibly harass the minge (prevents them from harming me). Problem is, if you can use it to defend yourself from minges, minges can use it to attack.

Also, there was this one contraption which allowed you to control any prop. It was funny to use it on something like a baby-doll (which had Keep Upright on) and strolling around, minding my baby business.
Or control an invisible ball with car alarm attached to it. Yeah.

I haven't had much luck finding a download link for wiremod, granted I haven't really looked very hard for it either. It takes too long to download it from a server, and even more so to set it up apparently. I tried joining some random DarkRP server to see what it was all about and spent two hours downloading components of wiremod. I always give up and find some Trouble in Terrorist Town server to play on instead.

The Dark RP community is terrible. The mod itself is fine, but most servers are full of little kids randomly killing things. If your looking for something like that but more serious go to a Perp server. If your looking for actual RP find a server with Aura or something like that.

EDIT: 34 for this http://www.wiremod.com/forum/installation-malfunctions-support/4-wiremod-svn-guide.html

Ah, thanks. I've been to that site, but didn't think to check the forums for the download links.

Some of the GMOD games are pretty fun, especially post-mortem where you can possess various bits of scenery and screw around with the other players.

It's at that moment that I begin hunting for a melon and attempt to bean someone from above. Unfortunately, I become more like a duck in one of those carnival games in due time.

And, suddenly, I no longer own this game, apparently.
What did you just do, Steam?  :|
