Vanished baron

So, my baron has vanished.
He is not dead, not alive and the bron entry has gone from the noble screen
There are still rooms assigne to him but he is nowhere to be found.
any help?

edit- hes gone insane. any way i can get a new one or advance to the next stage?

If he has a kid, then the kid becomes Baron after the old one dies. If not, meet the requirements for getting a King.
