Let's Socially Play Rome:Total War!
« on: April 02, 2011, 11:36:36 am »

Zdravstvuĭte i dobro pozhalovatʹ na moyu vtoruyu popytku sygratʹ igra obshchego voennaya.
Hello, and welcome to my second attempt to play a total war game, hopefully this one will be more compliant than Medieval.

In this let's play you can request a general or even a unit, I will also try to take your advice as a sort of "council" type thing, First thing's first though, I can play as any faction (other than rebels obviously), and I'd like you to vote in the poll as to what faction I should be.

A commodity appears at first sight an extremely obvious, trivial thing. But its analysis brings out that it is a very strange thing, abounding in metaphysical subtleties and theological niceties.

What difficulties will you be playing on?

Also the pool has quite a few votes! I'd exclude Britannia, Spain and perhaps even Carthage for being far away from the main frontiers.
Greece, Macedon or one of the Roman factions would be my preferred choices. I didn't vote in the poll because these are all equaly good.

I'll decide that when the faction is decided, as some factions are extremely handicapped.

The poll is updated, factions that get wiped out fast, and factions that aren't really involved for awhile are out.

True, but only for Pontus and alike. Do you feel like playing a "historical" game, or will you bumrush Italy to stop the Roman expansion early?
I've decided to go with Greece. You're close to the middle, have the strongest special unit (Spartans!) and will get attacked by Rome early on.

I've also went with Greece because i tend to always play with factions that field strong cavalry, but mediocre spearmen. It'll be fun to watch quite the opposite.

I'll play it as a mix of the two, I won't rush Italy instantly though, the SPQR has some really serious units, Greece I like as an option, it's one of the preferred options.

There is already a Greece LP. I vote for Brittania: it's kinda far away, which means that the roman have time to gether steam by the time you confront them. And I never played them.

I said Brutii because it's always fun to build Rome. Especially if it takes more than a day!

Watching. Also voted for Britain, because chariots are freaking annoying, and I'll be glad to see someone use them against the enemy in combat.

Looks like i'll be playing Britain this time around, should be fun considering I have never properly used chariots.

As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.
So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.

Install Europa Barbarorum. Then I will decide what faction you should play. :P

This is a vanilla playthrough, I don't really like modded Rome.
