Demand Rick tell you what is wrong, you've been friends since Kindergarten and you won't abandon him.

You softly talk to him like the gentleman you are, except for your mother-in-law of course, she's an exception.

"It's okay, tell me what's wrong."

"The loan sharks are after me! My business is bust!"

"What? You had plenty of customers in your shop!"

"Yes! But their interest rates were 50% per month! They lied to me, I can't bring them to court or they'll kill me!"

A little something died inside you after hearing that.

What now?

Comfort Rick and tell him if his business goes under he can always crash at your place, walk out afterwords, head to one of the shops.

Unless I'm missing something he can pay, but it'll cost him his business, not his life, if this isn't the case exclude this post.

It won't cost him his life, but it'll cost him everything around him, even his family.

You proceeded to tell him that he can take shelter in your house, but he insisted that you must take his family of 3 (2 parents, 1 girl) with him. You remembered that you have 1 boy.

What is your move?

Tell him, "Sure thing, I can borrow some money from my mother-in-law should the need arise."

Hey - no promises that we can't keep, OK?

Because being unable to keep it would make us unhappy.

But not being able to take care of our friend will make us unhappy as well.

Suggest that your new macro family form an amateur basketball team.

"Sure thing, I will borrow money from my in-laws should the need arise!", ignoring the fact that your mother-in-law is probably pissed at you, and probably won't give the money. But hey, ignorance is bliss right?

"Great! Thanks mate, I'll be packing, I'll move in tomorrow!"

You bid him goodbye, where to go next?

Possible areas include: Your house, your mother-in-law's, the bar, the police station, the sewers, and the church.

Avoid the seweers like heck. Maybe go to the church, enjoying the vast silence inside?
