The Koran Trial
« on: April 01, 2011, 07:45:36 pm »

My sister is looking for footage from the trial of the Koran (not the closing arguments or the actual burning.) Anyone know where to find it?

Ref:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/under-god/post/un-workers-killed-during-protest-of-terry-jones-koran-burning/2011/04/01/AFLOqKIC_blog.html

I'd also like to know if anyone has any opinions of Sheikh Imam Mohamed El Hassan, the supposed defense attorney for this mock trial, and if the burned Koran was in Arabic or if it were in English.

I'd also like to know how a book could possibly commit rape... On second thought, it's better not to know.

I heard about this. Hypocrisy burns my insides, I do wish they'd stop.

e: I'm not sure this is the same thing. I heard about some group of Fundies calling the Koran evil and the cause of violence because it doesn't say Christ is our Lord and Savior.

It's Qur'an, gawsh.
With the issues surrounding translating Arabic into Latin-Descended languages; Koran, Quran, and Qur'an are all considered gramatically correct (among other spellings, most likely).

Yes, please do continue the cycle of hate. It is, after all, the best option available to us.

Let's just persecute people who do things like this legally. I'm pretty sure this is a hate crime. And if not, it should be.

Could someone explain what this is about? I haven't heard about any Koran-burnings except that one last year that I think never actually burned any books?

Which is hilariously silly, but less so I'm sure if they're basically shitting on your beliefs and claiming it's their right.
