Do things like ◄sword► exists? I found these on the help menu, but I never saw one, and the wiki has no info on these(I think).

Swords are a weapon, highly useful for killing immortal beings of stone and necromorphs thanks to their dismembering properties. If you ask what the < > means, no clue.

I vaguely recall that it means 'magical'. But since magic doesn't exist in DF, neither do magical items.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

With a bit of memory hacking, you can give items the "magical" indicator. It probably won't actually do anything, though.

Or maybe its magical qualities are so magically magical that its effects are invisible.

You can still find some lines regarding this sort of thing in the string dump:

lol i was thinking that too...and the one covered in minute bumps...i dont think toady will ever add marital aids into the game...

Yes, that's the definition for magical. Though I doubt you will find anything similar in DF2010 without modding.
