Vicious Flying Aligators
« on: October 30, 2007, 09:22:00 pm »

I'm trying to bridge across a river on a cliff 4 above the water level.  The cliff is straight up and down, no overhangs or slopes.

I get spammed with:

code:
M”rul Feshkadol, Stoneworker cancels Construct Building: Interrupted by alligator.
The dwarves suspended the construction of wooden Bridge.

M”rul Feshkadol, Stoneworker cancels Store Item in Stockpile: Interrupted by alligator.
Asmel Nakuth•nul, Miner cancels Store Item in Stockpile: Interrupted by alligator.
M”rul Fikodid, Fish Cleaner cancels Store Item in Stockpile: Interrupted by alligator.
Urdim “mlimul, Jeweler cancels Store Item in Stockpile: Interrupted by alligator.
Reg Sharmelbil, Woodworker cancels Store Item in Stockpile: Interrupted by alligator.

While there is a slope up, it's not anywhere near the river.

If a dwarf so much as gets near a scary animal, s/he will be interrupted.  Even if the animal can't get to him.  Sounds like it may be working as intended in this case...

Can't blame a dwarf for being careful.

Sure, the croc is down there, dozends of feet away, and no visible means to get up here, but when Carps and Eagles and Elephants eat your buddies on a daily basis, wouldn't you worry about an alligator suddendly developting the ability to jump up, no matter the height, and eat you.
