I'll vote yes as well, it's way too much work otherwise.

I still say points of some sort for the GMs of minor miracles/magic/tech-aid would add an interesting element. Perhaps an income of them based on the number of MacGuffin parts owned?

Heh, this would be cool, but deciding prices for everything would be hell.

Will GM's be strictly on the side of their team or more neutral-ish? I'd be more than happy to throw endless mooks and enemies at my players!

Well GM's and players are more neutral, for example players can go against "their" GM's, and GMs can try to kill them as well (for lolz or practical reasons too)

I still like the random shuffling idea, where each team goes into a random GM's world.

Are they all collecting parts of the same MacGuffin? It would work a lot better if they each had a different copy.

There are 3 duplicates of the MacGuffin, so only 3 teams may win. It doesn't matter if the parts they got are from the same copy or not.

Also TolyK, you seem to be kinda rushing into the actual game. You can't just say 'alright, let's add PowerPoints' and expect that you have a finished PowerPoint system there. What about prices? If each GM has a different system and different combat rules, etc, how would you determine the prices for everything? What could you buy with them? Mooks, weapons, stat upgrades (also in the form of some kind of combat drug, implant, etc), allies? How would you get these points?

Where will the teams start at? If they start in the worlds of their GM's, what's stopping them from just hunting down the MacGuffin piece immediately? That wouldn't make any sense if this is supposed to be a team vs team sort of thing.


Alright, you edited, I don't get that either but whatever. So only 3 GM's will have a MacGuffin in their worlds?

The MacGuffin is broken into pieces, lets say for example 5 pieces each, and each GM gets 2 on his/her world (with the rest in the arena).

I'm not exactly rushing, I'm bumping discussion a bit.

We should create a universal system that GMs operate under. That way it's more equal.

Metaphorically of course. The six perimeter globules are interconnected, and connected to the central "hub". Each globule is a contained universe, over each a specified GM rules. The rules of just about everything are defined by the universe, and everyone plays by the universe. If players from one universe travel to the other, they are "converted" to whatever rules that universe uses.

Each universe contains a single key piece, whatever it'll end up being for. This key is needed to use the path from that universe to the hub, but routes to neighbor 'verses can be uncovered by normal means.

As for GM miracles, there should be a system of "fate points", for both players and GMs. Both receive them for "exceptional feats of skill", as awarded by Master GMs. These "fate points" have one of two effects, applied at will. One effect is to guarantee a specific roll result for a given character's roll. So a player can use it to either force himself to critical hit an enemy, or force the enemy to critically fail his dodge/anything. The other effect is to apply a uniform bonus or penalty to a given group of related people (team of adventurers, band of NPCs), for all rolls for the duration of the turn. When using the FP, players must announce it beforehand. GMs can use it in the process of rolling up the actions.

I'd like to play as a GM, but I'd like to direct most of my attention to the sunken carcass of my own game, and will have to opt out. I'll follow your progress, though!

yeah, kinda like that  :o
except that the 6 outer worlds are not connected, but contain 2 pieces each: 1 that the home team automatically gets, and 1 that can't be taken by that team (they have to find one of the other 2 copies elsewhere)

I guess fate points could be implemented for players.

EDIT: yes I'm still writing that ruleset preposition.
