do wooden chairs float, if so we have "Watermountain", the Nations favourite dwarven water park. Rides include the Long drop:

the dwarves sit on the chair, then the floodgate underneath them is opened, the dwarves then have no choice but to ride the river down to the unloading point (a floodgate blocks the river for long enough to cause the river to flood to the height of unloading then it closes (would be easier with flotation switches but hey))the dwarf then jumps off and goes back to his job, and another chair is set to build on top of the floodgate

Chairs are dropped in by the same method as described above and then when there are 4 or 5 floodgates, the middle floodgate opens and drops them all into a lower chamber (which has to have enough space to get level 1 water everywhere)(the current water level is regulated by the bottom floodgate)(should be about 4 or 5)

Oh, i forgot to introduce the yearly "running of the elephants":

The whole area is designated a statue garden so all the drwaves like to go there frequently. You have the north floodgates open at first (only way to get to main bt of fortress with the other rides XD) then when sufficient dwarves are there (or one decides to call a party) you open the floodgates holding the elephants back and close the ones leading out to the fortress.

the dwarves then have to run the length of the tunnel while being chased by a horde of rampaging elephants which are provoked to charge by that one crossbowdwarf.

Bedrooms center on an atrium, allowing light to enter for non-dwarven visitors, and attached to the bedrooms are private dining rooms.  There's a spiral staircase in the middle of the atrium just for the hell of it.

Elsewhere in the hotel is a swimming pool complete with diving board, a dance hall, a microbrewery, and a kitchen staffed with experienced and creative chefs who use locally-grown organic produce.

Unfortunately my road will deliberately go through a mountain so for the comfort of our ground dwelling friends, the mountain will be mined completely, until it is flat with the height i am building the road....

That's actually not a bad idea! If you had far too much time on your hands, I guess you could level the whole mountain and build your entire fortress hidden underground, accessible only through a tiny mound with trees growing over it to hide it. And whenever a caravan came, a section of the floor lowers to become a ramp leading in.

You'd need either a lot of cheats or a good player with no life at all whatsoever, but it would be pretty cool.

It would actually be pretty cool to level the whole thing and turn every single tile into a road. (No need for setting up a place for dwarves to live  :))

now you only ever need 5 tombs...

build the tomb so that the coffin is placed on top of the floodgate, when the coffin is filled, open the floodgate and the coffin drops into the ocean/ underground river/ underground lake.
