Miners refuse to mine?
« on: March 30, 2011, 12:41:02 pm »

I'm trying to get my miners to mine adimentine but they just refuse to mine. One of them is standing right next to where i'm telling him to mine with "No Job", and the other is standing around the meeting area with "No  Job"... They both have mining enabled, and they have pickaxes, so there's no reason I can see them to refuse to mine.

i have had this happen too. but it was just for regular mining (not related to any special material). he was just hanging out in the hall . I cancelled all digging areas and redid them. the dwarf still stool around for another couple minutes and then went to work as if nothing happened.

could it be a bug?

could your dwarves be quick to tire?

cant offer any real advice sry :(

try remove mining designations and reset them?

They're probably not able to get to the job. Designate something else to dig, in a place you've already managed to mine, and see if they'll go do that.
