We can rebuild him!
« on: March 29, 2011, 08:34:25 pm »

Ok, not to much of an exciting post, but this made me giggle a little so I thought it might be worth posting. Anyway, after a quick siege... a couple of my dwarves were injured, broken leg, cuts bruises nothing major (my military is crappy due to no real metal on this embark (platinum and gold doesn't keep the goblins out)so 10 marksdwarfs, 10 dwarfs armed with whatever they find and then there's the war dog breeding program, 50 odd wardogs/bears).

Anyway, once one of my dwarfs was patch up, I checked his treatment. And he received the best/most dwarfish medical care I've ever seen.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I still suck at this game, but hey, at least i remembered soap this time.

Actually the most dwarfy and annoying thing is to use adamantine strands for sutures, and forgotten beast soap.

The soap turns out to burn the flesh off of your dwarves, but only on their upper arms.

So sell it to the elves.  Claim it'll make their skin radiant.

When I read the topic title, I pictured something like Metalsmiths creating steel/silver/candy prosthetics to replace severed limbs.

Though grizzly bear hair sutures is good too.

While prosthetics wouldn't be bad at all. A peg leg would be as funny as it would be useful, and some locked-position gauntlet could let dwarves be less 'armless by allowing them to grip weapons. That's even been done in real life, so it most definitely should be here!

...anyway, I never got any of that. But I do have a woodcrafter that lost a foot and one lower arm. I made him my captain of the guard now... if my dwarves violate mandates somehow, he'll come and bash them with his -larch crutch-.

Giant badgers are cruel saddistic balls of fur and hate. Did anyone know they could paint a wall with a single dwarven baby?.... You know what, I made the Giant badgers sound like sane DF players.

Burning and raping the land is recreational. Where business is concerned, though, sustainability is the name of the game.

Great! Less flesh to bleed from.
