CAMELS.

Are pointlessly violent and send your non-military or non-trained dwarves to the hospital easily.
Try embarking on an evil desert biome. The zombie camels are much more docile. Perhaps their survival instincts are stunted since they're already dead.

Nah, I embark on untamed wilds desert biome... so i can actually breed GDS, rather than facing zombie ones.

I recall in a previous version of the game I embarked on a map where a pack of 8 skeleton camels lives, they would kill whole orc/goblin sieges, migrant waves and every trader that tried to come, I ended up having to use pretty drastic measures just to try to re-establish contact with the outside world.

I had a pack of 8 giant capybaras invade the entrance of my fort which then proceeded to murder 8 of the 10 dogs guarding the entrance.  I managed to trap 4 of them, and before I play again I am modding them to be trainable pets so that I can use war capybaras instead of war dogs.

I think I will take your capabara over the skeleton badgers I have been getting...  Spending 3 on dodge and 4 on Axe wasn't enough.  Got to make armor faster.

get as much outside stuff as possible then block off your entrance? thats what im thinking imma do for my next fort...any only open it when a caravan shows up, i also intend on making a separate, rather long hallway, full of weapon traps...

Badgers, thanks to their frequent enraging are the bane of any fortress that has them. They will attack wildlife and dwarves once raging, and appear to seek out your entrances in a hostile fashion (presumably to steal things/eat food). Hunters can deal with them, but I've lost several animals to them, and have had civilians wounded on several occasions now.

So, did anyone already unleashed a dozen war giant badgers on a gobbo siege ?

I'm on a tropical biome so no badgers for me.

edit: OH WAIT HONEY BADGERS.  Fun will be had.

ive caught more badgers than any other animal at this point....i need to get rid of them.  anyways, they dont steal anything as far as i can tell...just annoy, i havent had any serious injuries either, so yeah, just really annoying-i dont know what id do with them if i could tame them...keep em as pets? prolly, but i already have cats and cavies and rabbits...cows, reindeer, yaks, and water buffalo are for slaughtering...oh and pigs, gotta have bacon.  oh and the birds for eggs...bacon and eggs and cheese(reminder: make more cheese)=wet beard from drool

Capybaras = Rodents of Unusual Size

Have them killed. Nothing solves a problem quite as effectively as simply having it killed.

I suddenly feel the urge to do some modding to the raws for both badgers and capybaras now. I want some war-badgers.

Yea. Fuck Gigantic Pandas... Oh wait, were talking about capybaras?! pppfffff

Just lost my commander to a gigantic panda. Killed him almost instantly WHILE he was getting attacked by 5 other dwarves with varying weaponry. Need steel armor.

I only use my military to clean up goblins that don't die in the 15z pit. I think I sending too many of them to the pit at once and they're surviving by landing on each other at the bottom.

That doesn't happen. They take damage (in other words, explode) as soon as they hit the ground, but otherwise they are completely intangible while falling.
