I remember For Science!

After reading the couple of necesarry articles, I've got a more fleshed out idea from my previous post.

Before all this, you were just a normal Matoran, doing your part in making sure your city or village kept running. On one fateful day, you were damaged on the job, and the local Turaga sent you to the realm of Karzahni, where you would be repaired and sent back to your home. When you arrived there, it's ruler, Karzahni, repaired you. Unfortunately for you, Karzahni's repairs were...shoddy, to say the least, leaving you weaker than before. As compensation, he gave you weapons to defend yourself with. In order to hide his failures, Karzahni then sent you to a large, unnamed continent, commonly called the Southern Continent.
When you awoke on the beaches of the continent, you found that you were not alone, but rather, there were 5 other Matoran with you.

Name: ((Keep in mind that this is a universe different from ours in several ways, including naming conventions, so no names like George or John, but say, Taipu, Kapura and so on))
Type: There are 6 primary types of matoran, with several subtypes. The primary types are: Ta (fire), Ga (water), Le (air), Ko (ice), Po (stone) and Onu (earth). Effects of the primary types and their typical jobs are detailed below. Regular jobs for all types of Matoran include Guards, Traders, and Crafters, for example. You are free to make up your own jobs, as long as they make sense for the type of Matoran and explain what they do.

• Ta - Resistance to higher temperatures. Typical jobs are lava farming and in Metru Nui, mask making.
• Ga - Higher lung capacity, better at swimming than other types of Matoran. Typical jobs include fishing, weaving, boat making, and in Metru Nui, various educational positions.
• Le -

Former Job: What job you had before you were sent to Karzahni. Look above for typical jobs for various types.
Weapon: What weapon you received from Karzahni. Typically include some sort of minor effect, such as projecting blasts of energy.

I'm interested, but it kind of sucks that regular matoran can't use masks. On the other hand, they are walking, nanotech wonders that would be worth a mid-sized country on Earth, so perhaps the shoddy repairs could introduce 'glitches' with semi-controllable effects. I think I can help with matoran descriptions if they're in that old Rahi Beasts book I have laying around... I'll get back to you on that later, regardless.

Bionicles always confused me because there are like six races, but two thirds of them are amalgamations of the names of other races.

There was no such thing as 'game-breaking' in For Science!, Derm. Only game-enhancing. I wouldn't hesitate to give everyone reality warpers if need be.
