A little question..
« on: March 29, 2011, 01:10:26 pm »

I caught some goblins in a cage trap, and they're all in a single cage now. How do I execute them?

EDIT: Nevermind, throwing them into a pond and drowning them works now.

Throwing them down deep pits with spikes at the bottom works equally well; the bigger the fall, the more damage done to the critter. Typically you'd want the pit to be over 10 Z levels and with spikes at the bottom for a definite kill.

At least, that's what I gathered from reading another recently posted thread relating to pit traps.

Good luck, hope that helps a bit.

You could start a zoo and end up with a natural history museum, I'm sure no one would mind.

Don't waste prisoners like that!  Use them to train your army instead.  Or at least drop them off of a supreme height so that you can butcher the remains.

Actually, if you're going that route, you'd want a pit around 8-9 z-levels with no spikes, so that they would all be horribly mangled but still alive. Then you can send in soldiers armed with training weapons to beat on them for a few months.

I tried that out. I found a cave and only ended up with 5 dead miners.

Build upwards and pit them from a great height, no need to dig downward.

Whoa, this is even better. I have a giant desert scorpion I got after the elves died.
I threw one in the pit.
When I throw the goblins in the pit, the scorpion kills them.

By the way, how can you escort goblins to said wholes?

You put the cage next to the hole.

You designate it as a pit/pond zone and assign the goblin to the zone.
