OK I'll try with 1x2 bridge.

Are there any other normally open buildings to be used as flood gates?

I use doors - they are open until a mechanic... mechanize them. And 1x1 bridges often look the same in open and closed state, just like 1x10 raised bridge put vertically and opened to east or west.

OK I finally finished constructing swimming pool one screw pump to pump in - another to punp out both powered from water wheel.
How to properly put gobbos and other nice enemies in it? Cages are sadly nothing but bathyscaphes in that case. If I put them on chain - it can be broken when goblin is trying to run out the incoming water and I'm unable to put more than one to chain because dwarfes are scared.
I know of triggered cages but am willing to have some permanent construction.

Any advices?

Second is about biome.
I've ran out of fish in my brook let say whithin 3 years from foundation of my fortress. And it is not recovering. Every year I have just "there is nothing to catch in the river" message.
Yes, I have some elefants, unicorns, birds coming year around but no fish in the river.

Is it a bug, o rjust a real life?

Thank you. I've put 1x3 bridge and it is raised as a solid wall now.

OK then.

1. If fortification is passable for honey bees? I'd like to put all hives inside and round them with fortification.
2. I've a colossus luckily captured. But vefire that he was nearly destroyed. In report it has everything smashed, cracked and damaged - loooooooooong enough list of damages. But as soon as it has no blood will it die? Will it die when loose leg/hand? Can it vomit/become unconsciousness?
3. Is it worth to become a capital? Any preferences? New usefull nobles except king?

1. I think honey bees are vermin, so they teleport. Hives aren't buildable underground anyway.
2. Do you mean a bronze colossus? If so, they have no blood, feel no pain, cannot become unconscious, and can be a head with a torso and still live.
3. Other than the king, I don't think so.

Have you seen any goblins at all? If not, it's possible they can't reach your fort; when embarking, be sure and Tab through to see if they are alive in your current part of the world.

Oh, elephants are buggy. they die of starvation while eating.
I wish I could have some of them as war animals.
OK, next time maybe.

It's currently true of any large grazing animal, ie water buffaloes.

One of my cadets or what is the name for newbie warrior is still unarmed althoug in equip menu I've assigned melee weapon.
He started from complete 0's at every martial skill.
How to enforce him into taking some weapon, but not assigning it manually?

I have gobblin swiming pool, caged bronze colossus at main entrance, some other caged animals and statues. Are those things really chear up dwarfes? Do they enjoy seeing goblins smashed/melted/pierced etc.? Is dwarfes behavior modifiers can be checked somehow in realtime?

I built some windowed terrasas just in front of main entrance to the fortress full of weapon traps. Is it of any value?

How long has he been going around without a weapon? Is he active?
He may be in the process of switching between two weapons.

Dwarves get happy thoughts from built cages and traps, proportional to their value, I believe.

King brings legendary+5 military with them, with 30k experience in their particular weapon. It might be worth for that, it is possible to become capital before your own military are that good. They come even if your civ has no king -  you still get the message that king has arrived. But they won't come if your population is at or above population cap.
