4D Tic Tac Toe
« on: March 28, 2011, 08:52:19 am »

ein's thread brought up the idea of four dimensional tic tac toe, so let's play some. We'll start with four players, O, X, & and %. You can win on any line, even complicated 4d diagonals

Aw, when I read 4D I thought it'd be played with time travel as well.

Declare that you are one of the remaining players (X, & or %) and then make a move on your turn by posting the board with your move on it.

EDIT2: Or mabey he should go last, dunno.

I think the center square is too powerful, and should probably be blocked off in any future rounds. I think Grek will win unless we work together to stop him.

I think it will sorta happen naturally. Unless/until he gets into a position where he has 4 or more ways to win in one turn (which might happen eventually), then me+you+hammer will end up blocking all his ways (unless one of us screws up).

Play order is now:
O: Grek
&: Nirur Torir
%: lemon10
X: warhammer65

The center is not so strong as it looks. Yes, it is a component to 39 possible winning lines, but there's 690 other ways to win that don't require the center. It takes part in less than 5% of all possible victories.

What you've really got to worry about is that Nirur Torir. He's got evil amperstand demons on his side.

At least I'm a known evil. You might be ogres, olmmen, or possibly even the dread oliphants. Rise up against the deceivers, future minions brothers! If I win, there will be countless slaves of the race of your choosing. Plus dwarven syrup roasts. Lots of dwarven syrup roasts.
