Judging by the last update, I doubt it will be tonight.  I won't be playing until Therapist and DFHack get updated anyway.

Just wish he'd release it and let the community find the issues for him to do the bugfixes on at this point. I feel disappointed now though, it doesn't sound like just 'finishing touches' as Threetoe put it. To me, 'finishing touches' are what you do the day before release. :P

Wait for it like everyone else. Toady works to achieve quality, as you might have noticed by now. It will be released when it's released, no sooner and no later.

To be honest, I hate hearing that kind of rebuttal. It doesn't make sense to say that, and the value of that kind of negative attitude, towards someone meaning no harm, is null. Besides, if he was going for a purely quality release here (in an alpha state, mind you...) then he would first improve the damn UI. That's quality improvement.

That besides, there's this thing called a smiley. You see, it looks a little like this:  :P. It means I wasn't strung-up and gung-ho about pressuring a release out of Today. I happen to agree; it's released when it's released. That kind of statement is of the same caliber as "it's in the last place you look". But how, pray tell, does that mean I can't have a wish? Must be illegal to wish for anything these days.

For every person who genuinely wouldn't complain if they got a super-bugged release right now, there's three who'd have a fit if their fort crashed every time a Necromancer came near their refuse stockpile. The initial release is already going to be a seething pile of bugs- I don't begrudge Toady taking the time to fix as many game-breakers as he can before release.

I was just disappointed 'cause Threetoe went and got my hopes up with the 'Finishing Touches' bit. :-\ To me that seems to mean, oh yeah, Toady's just finishing up and then he'll release it, shouldn't take long!
He could've said 'While Toady works on the remaining issues' intead of 'While Toady puts on some finishing touches', ehehe. :P I don't mind waiting, normally.

Hey guys, I've seen there was not game update for almost a year. I loved fortress mode but i'm not interested into adventure more.

Is there a hot chick who could list what will be new in the fortress mode (but if you're not a hot chick it's still ok) ?

Thanks ! :)

When you work for year on one thing, "finishing touches" WILL take at least few days. Ever heard about proportionality?

He was already doing these "finishing touches" in the previous days. When Threetoe appears after months to say that the release is "just around the corner" and speaking of "Toady busy with the finishing touches" it is not surprising that the anxiety in the forum would rise to the stratosphere.

Just look at the ammount of posts yesterday about an imminent release.
