But then, what about armor and hands flying off, it'd forget the gauntlet then.

The most irritating thing about clothes for me is building a whole set, you have to build each piece seperately, so I'd like some more automation I guess, but apart from that, I like the system as it is, if only my dwarves would wear it now :)

I've tried to keep the identities separate from their users, so you could have multiple critters use the same identity later on, either as a sequential hand-me-down or in competition at the same time.

I'm not talking about armor, those need to remain as is. For the clothing: How could it forget anything? There would be nothing to forget. If you wanted, you could make it deal damage to the set of clothing to represent the chopped off glove. But the set would remain with the dwarf wearing it.

I stopped playing it when .25 came out. Real life took me by surprise. I curse myself for it, as now I shall have to learn how to play it again. Though even now as I write this, the notion of Fun drifts into my mind...

In my opinion, this isn't so much a problem as awesome.  Maybe as long as it doesn't happen all the time.

The new version is so close I can taste the troubling rain...this is amazing, easily as exciting as the buildup before 0.31.01.

Do you always look at it in ASCII?

You get used to it, I don't even see the ASCII.  All I see is blacksmith, miner, goblin.

I'll have to go crazy on the modding, implementing the new feature stuff.

Has there been any word if he's still in shape to meet his soft deadline of tomorrow?

I can practically taste it... (it taste like cheese pizza....)

It's not coming out tomorrow.  Toady hasn't finished optimization and map maintenance, and he hasn't even started sponsorship animals and SDL stuff.  We might see a January release but don't hold your breath.  Toady has reiterated multiple times that it's likely to slip to February.
